Shaky or squirrely handlebars can be a serious problem when you’re at speed. The GPR V4 Fat Bar Stabilizer Kit is a steering damper that works to kill unwanted handlebar movement, giving you more confident control and precision steering.

The V4 sets itself apart from other dampers with its unobtrusive, under-bar design that raises your bar less than ½ inch. Using such a low-profile form factor ensures the V4 won’t get in your way, but with this small size you still get full adjustability that can be changed mid-ride. Once you complete the installation and dial the stabilizer in to your liking, you’ll be rewarded with confidence-inspiring control in both the corners and straights.

    Specs:
  • Fully adjustable steering damper with low-profile design
  • Large red dial for on-the-fly damping adjustments
  • Only raises bars an average of 3/8"
  • Designed to be "tucked" away under the bars for minimal obtrusiveness
  • Easily adjustable without raising the handle bars too high
  • Kit includes damper, bolt on post mount, below the bar mounting system, and complete instructions
  • NOTE: Will only work with Fat Bar style (1 1/8" clamp area) handlebars and stock triple clamp

Nice product but fit was a problem.
The product does what it advertises. For operation it's a 5 star product. For installation it has an issue. On my Husky FE350 the new handle bar mount sits too far forward. The instrument panel had to be pushed forward to get it in place. I found that I needed to make some spacers and replace the screws to move the panel forward about 5/16" to clear the new riser. So beware it's not a perfect fit.

Customer support from GPR Is amazing. I ordered mine for a 2017 kx 450. Not realizing it would be different mounts from my ride triple clamps. I contacted GPR with my problem and they got the correct mount no questions asked.

Love the GPR
Love the GPR set up. This is the second one I have gotten. It’s always one of the first up grades I put on a bike. Perfect fit! no guess work. Thanks

Won’t ride without one
I have had 2 GPR stabilizers. 2004 Ktm 125 and 2008 Ktm 144. It’s one of those things that u don’t realize how nice it is until you ride without one. I won’t ride without one. I ride in mostly tight woods hare scrambles and play riding. I have never had to service or repair on after 10 years.

GPR V4 I was pleasantly surprised!
I was pleasantly surprised the steering stabilzer fits to the existing rubber cushions so it is "shock mounted". lke the original mounts. Fit is awsome and directions were clear. Have not rodden enough to provide opinion on the performance but I am real happy with ther fit.

Not impressed
First the install...after all done I spun it through the settings to check the operation. At 7 and 8 it flexed so much it actually spun the mount a little bit. To fix I had to tighten the one allen screw way tighter than what seemed sensible for the bolt size--I'd guess 100ft-lbs but its hard to tell because i only had long allen wrenches in that size, however it was literally all me and my bigger friend could push/pull. The engineering is unimpressive, especially for the cost. I'll be surprised if this thing lasts 200hrs.
It looks good on the bike and I like the extra 1/2" or so height. As for the experience, I used it for 130 miles in everything from 90mph freeway, gravel roads, tight muddy forest single track, desert single track and sand, and deep sandy riverbeds. am definately regretting getting something that resists both directions. I was primarily concerned about tank slappers going 75+ in deeper sand, but even set on 2-3 it really distracted my desert singletrack and sandy whoops routine. Problem is it prevents you from doing your own correcting when the tire gets loose. It actually made me feel like a newby again, and pretty sure it actually caused me to dump it in 2 places I've been over a dozen times and never had trouble. The only time I felt it helped me was going straight up steep dirt hills and straight down long steep sandy hills where it usually wants to yank your wheel from you. I am hoping I getvused to it, but my initial feeling is its a huge waste of money on about $50!worth of engineering and parts.

Good for deep sand but not for single track
I like this stabilizer in deep sand but that is the only time I use it. I ride mostly single track and some faster whooped out sandy stuff from time to time. In the sand it helps you not over steering, and it seems like I'm more confident going in a straight line in deep sand. I usually set he stabilizer to 3-4 in this stuff. When it comes to single track I pretty much turn it off by putting it on 1. I have noticed some of the hardware on the stabilizer have rusted quicker than I would have liked.

Does exactly what's its supposed to do. Looks good and helps a lot on the rocks and other trail obstacles I don't see as well.

Does this kit come with everything needed or will something else need to be purchasedo mount it on the bike?
Craig B on Oct 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This kit has everything you need to install it on your bike.
Does the kit come with a throttle cable guide? I read a review saying a billet throttle cable guide is included bit can't see where it's included in the product description.
Paul T on May 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes it does come with an aluminum throttle cable guide.
With the help with handle bar vibrations from my 2 stroke? I am having a problem with my hands going numb. Thanks
Joshua V on Mar 31, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes it will. It will help you learn not to hold on so tight with your hands and squeeze more with your legs. This will help prevent " arm pump ". GPR does offer a Pro Kit with built-in Anit Vibration grommets for a true anti-vibe set up while running a stabilizer. The Pro Kit will have better Anti-Vibration qualities over the regular V4FB set up.
will this work with any aftermarket Triple Clamps??
A shopper on May 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I am not sure if it will fit your application. If the bolt centers are the same and it does not have any other clearance issues it may work fine. Any questions contact GPR.I would go ahead and order it, measure and do a test fit without marking or scratching any of the finish. If it fits great… if not send it back. I have used this on two of my bikes, 2012 WR450 and 2016 TE300 with the stock clamps and thought is a great product for the price. Fit and finish was great, no issues with installation and my WR450 had an IMS 3 gallon fuel tank. I would not ride without a steering stabilizer again, I ride off road, single track and desert. Hope this may have helped, good luck!
Does this come with a steal bar mount or black? Does it come with a hr meter and throttle cable mount?
Alan B on Mar 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: the bar mount looks just like the picture. grey metal color not black. there are no additional mounts included for other cables.

This is a top notch product, no complaints whatsoever after more than 2 years of hard street & dirt riding abuse. Totally solved my headshake issues on 450 supermoto. 5 stars for sure
When i get to setting 4 and higher the bars now go loose and hit a stiff spot making it hard to control. Could it need a rebuilt only being a year old?
A shopper on May 1, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes , the rubber seals go bad inside. Go to GPR’s website get their number and call them. They charge $35.00 for a full rebuild. You shouldn’t have to run at number 4. The highest I run mine is 3 in the mud.
Can this be used with bar risers?
Trevor J on May 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: These kits do include a bar mount, and in most cases does raise the bar height. Each kit and bike model vary a bit on exact rise that it gives. You can possibly use a bar riser on them, but in almost all cases you would need to purchase extended cables to accommodate the added bar height on top of our bar mount
