For whatever reason I"ve always had a love hate relationship with shift levers and the Hammerhead Billet shift lever has been the cure. I got a slightly different bend to allow for my size 12's...it is a huge difference than stock bend that allows me much easier transitions of my boot tip under the shifter. Easy to replace the stock part. The anodizing on the Knurled tip is showing some wear signs but chicks dig it!! No regrets.

    Love this part
I replaced my perfectly good stock unit with this on a whim. I have been nothing but happy. I ordered a slightly longer lever arm and like the fit with my boot better. The arm is heftly and the feel is solid. I have put close to 45 hours on sense installing and I am happy every time I ride. When I am not ridding I love the look of the lever. This is a win-win piece works great and looks great.

    The answer to big feet
Just bought my 12 yr old son a CR85 shifter quad had a difficult time being able to shift always looking for the shifter. He wears a size 10 boot. Got this and solved the problem no more looking for the shifter. Great product.

    Great aftermarket product
I like this shifter better then the original OEM. Wish Rocky Mountain had a KTM color vs. the Husky blue color - that's the only complaint.

Durable and major improvement for shift feel
Shifting is a breeze now with this thing. Anyone with a size 11 or bigger boot will benefit greatly. I’m a size 12 and the +2mm is perfect for me. So far no color fade after about 100 shifts. Was a bit of a pain to get on with how tight the teeth are but better too tight than too loose!

    for KTM's..These suck
This is my second Hammerhead shifter. The first one, 5 years ago, snapped in half after 3 rides in the NV desert. No bending...I just looked down and half of it was gone. Forward to today. I had gone through 3 OEM shifters in about 6 sessions [yes I am hard on shifters!] riding sagebrush and rocks in the dez so... I decided to try Hammerhead again. The thread locked on shifter loosened after one ride. I thread locked it again and took it to ID for a week. it loosened and oblonged after 3 rides and was substantially bent with very few hits, in fact I don't recall a hit. Believe the other reviews about the the machining not being a match for the engine shifter spine. After talking with a riding buddy he found the same with these shifters. They suck. I don't know about other makes but DO NOT BUY IF YOU OWN A KTM. I have gone back to OEM and will riding much more careful in the rocks. The OEM have there weak points but they can handle some abuse and be bent back so you can at least finish your ride with some sort of shifting capability.

Hammerhead Billet Shift Lever with Knurled Tip
Wanted a longer lever and this one is built well and allowed for a more comfortable foot position and keeping my toes from going to low and catching on rocks while shifting.

what is the difference between the forged lever and billet lever?
    Dylan L on Nov 5, 2017
Hammerhead Billet Shift Lever with Knurled Tip
Hammerhead Billet Shift Lever with Knurled Tip
Hammerhead Forged Shift Lever with Knurled Tip
Hammerhead Forged Shift Lever with Knurled Tip
BEST ANSWER: Forged components are hammered into shape while the material is hot. Billet components are cut from stock materials and generally have a more pleasing shape and finish. Because of the greater time and effort of CNC machining, billet products are more expensive. Forged vs. billet, in aluminum components, probably doesn't make a lot of difference in strength. Some folks say forged items are stronger; some say that billet components are. However, in drag racing, where performance really counts with very high $$$$ engines, everybody runs billet crankshafts. I'm sure that you won't see a big difference in a simple shift lever.
Does this (Part# 1374500038) actually fit a an 2015 WR250F? I have a Hammerhead 01-0224 (2015 YZ250F) and it does not fit the WR. Yamaha OEM is the same lever for both bikes, but the larger side cover on the WR fouls the Hammerhead YZ lever.

wr450f 2015 hammerhead gear shift lever, will that fit the wr450f 2016?
    A shopper on Jun 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately the lever for the 2015 will not fit on the 2016 since the shift lever has changed.
Does this shift lever fold away so that it doesn't bend or snap in a fall?
    Eric L on Aug 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it does have a spring that allows the tip to fold back and then return if you bump into objects. The lever only folds back and not up. I have had mine for a couple of seasons and am happy with it, I also bought the longer lever for comfort in shifting.
i have a boot size 10 US.. wich size of lever do you recomend? stock or 10mm

Would the same lever that fits the 2017 husqvarna fx 350 fit the same year fx450?
    A shopper on Apr 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I'm going to guess that it would fit. I'm going to assume they both use the same transmission. If you want to absolutely be certain I would compare both bikes to make sure they both take the same OEM gear selector. It's pretty easy to do on RMATV/MC website. Hopefully this helps!
what is the difference between stock and 10mm?
    A shopper on Oct 2, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The length in 10mm more, I prefer it this way. Very good shifter.

    A shopper on Nov 10, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It’s most likely the same lever.. you can check to see if you can see by searching parts for your RMZ 250 and compare the part # to the RMZ 450
