    I wanted the vortex but because of price I got this instead. wow what a difference. I had a 2017 KTM EXCF450 six days. Because of emissions, the bike was terrible, bogged down, felt like I was on a TTR230. Once I put this in and a couple of mods. This bike felt amazing. I wanted to ride it every day like a dirt bike. You can change the settings and make It aggressive. It was fairly easy to install, good instructions. Never had any issues with it. Plug and play.

    I bought this for my 2017 Rmx450z , and all I can say is wow what a difference. The bike runs like it should now. The only trouble I had was trying to find somewhere to mount it. The directions where good , read them over a few times to understand how it works.

    Very effective way to richen up you fuel mixture on fuel injected bikes. I installed on my 2018 exc-f 500 after I installed an aftermarket exhaust and it kept it from back firing as much. Bike flames out less and has overall improved power.

    Interestingly, the standard settings that came with the one I bought for my Husqvarna TE250 were so wrong they made the bike run horribly. I talked with JD, and then he tells me that the map for the TE is basically too rich everywhere because it's the same map/ECU used for all the Husqvarna models, including much larger displacement. So after learning that I used my butt dyno and ended up taking out fuel from several of the settings. The JDJ tuner really helped minimize and almost eliminate the flame out issue, and overall bike ran cleaner. I was disappointed it took so much fiddling to get it right when it was supposed to come with corrrect base setting.

    My Husaberg came with one tho, and it ran so good I didn't even bother learning how to adjust the tuner for more than a year, there wasn't any reason to mess with it.

    I was kind of bummed with the performance of my '18 350excf but this changed everything. I installed this on the right side of the battery box. Wiring was simple and programming was even easier. I I installed an fmf 4.1 ad desmogged my bike at the same time that I installed this tuner and it is a night and day difference. This is the single best improvement you can do to the new euro dual sports.

    very easy to install, a little tricky at first to program but got the hang of it pretty quick. Can really feel then difference when making the adjustments. I mainly got it to try and help with the flame outs, so far it has improved but still flames out now and then. I am still making adjustments.

    BEST ANSWER: I have a 2009 Husky TE 450. For my bike the installation was very simple, only had to remove the gas tank to access the injector. Not hard at all, plug and play. Regarding the programming, I had to read the instructions a few times to understand what they were saying but once it clicked in my brain what this device does and where the adjustments would affect the performance of the bike it was very easy. A little trial and error and bingo. I ride at sea level and also high elevations so I have two different programs that I've written down so I can quickly dial in the bike for where I'm at. For my bike, it made a huge difference.

    BEST ANSWER: Ths tuner is an excellent simple way to adjust and improve the total range of the fuel injection system. On my machine I was able to greatly improve the starting and idle circuits, low to mid range is now much more snappier. This turner is exactly what I needed to cure the frustrating issues that I was having. It's very easy to install and use. Place the controller in a location that's easy to access and you can make an adjustment to any of the 6 circuit levels within seconds anytime, anywhere you want.

    BEST ANSWER: An EFI tuner leaves no "foot print" on the ECU. My thinking is that the motor company
    would have to prove that your modifications caused the damage (especially if
    it's not air/fuel related).

    BEST ANSWER: I would contact JD Jetting directly over the phone as they are very helpful and will get you sorted out. That said, generally 4-strokes tend to flame out at low throttle openings due to lack of fuel. Try gradually adding fuel in the low RPM range and that should help reduce stalling,

    BEST ANSWER: I installed it on a 2017 Suzuki RMX450Z and it worked wonders on it. The bike came so lean from the factory it would back fire bad on deceleration. Was able to tune that right out of it. Great product
    Sounds like this plugs in ahead of the fuel injection, so will it work on ANY dirt bike with an electronic fuel injection system? Even a bike not listed above (such as with Kayo brand Chinese fuel injection)? What part of this tuner is brand specific?

    BEST ANSWER: As far as i understand this device just changes the duty cycle of the injector depending on the rpm and settings that that you have programmed in ie at low rpm add slightly more fuel, at mid rpm add slightly more... as for brand specific i would say the plugs can be different from brand to brand or year to year. You could always cut the plugs off and wire it straight up. At this point it would be a gamble. You could research the injector and try to make sure voltage would be the same, maybe even the plug. I found on my 2014 ktm 500 xc-w this device wasn't any better than just adjusting the throttle position sensor to fool the ecu into a "richer" condition. It is slightly easier to adjust. I did some testing with a wideband O2 sensor and it didn't make any huge changes but huge may not be desirable. You could take your fuel injector into a local shop to see if it is similar to a "name brand" injector to get an idea of compatibility. The Chinese bike is probably a copy of something like a honda ect.

    BEST ANSWER: The JD Tuner adjusts the amount of fuel flow, it has settings for Idle, 1/8 thriottle, 1/4 throttle, 1/2, and so on. It may help with cold starts... it is a tunable fuel adjuster.

    BEST ANSWER: You can only do one power mode at a time in real time with the JD tuner
    When you change modes you will have to adjust the JD unit again
    To do what you are talking about you will need a power commander
    With it you can create many maps and store them to use for whatever mode you are in
    It would be wise to install a Wide band air fuel ratio gauge to monitor your settings
    so you can get them right instead of guessing

    BEST ANSWER: Start with the recommended settings to see how it feels for a couple rides. Adjust the settings up to add more fuel in the areas that you want the power to be. I left the bottom end at recommended settings but increased the mid and top end a little more.
    I have a 2016 KTM 500 EXC. Will I have to send my ECM out to be “jail broken” or buy one for an off-road model for the tuner to work due to my ECM being locked from the factory compliments of the tree huggers in California. And is there a way to rig up a “temporary” wide band AFR gauge just for strictly tuning my bike and removing it after I’m happy with the tune? Trying to keep the bike as light and clutter free as possible. If so what do you recommend?

    BEST ANSWER: I have a ‘16 500 exc as well. I did not have to jail break anything. This tuner goes inline with the injector harness. It just takes the factory signal, and converts it to whatever you set the tuner for, and sends the converted signal to the injector. I cannot answer your wideband question, although I look forward to hearing others responses on it. Hope this helps.
    if i get a yoshimura full exhaust system and a k&n air filter on my 09 kfx450r will i need to get an efi tuner and/or do something to my jets? thanks

    BEST ANSWER: Marc your 09 kfx450r has a Keihin 42mm throttle body EFI it has no jets to mess with
    But ant time you let more air in like with a K&N air filter you have to re tune your Air Fuel Ratio
    and a great way to do this in real time is with the jd tuner
    we run one on out Husquarna smr510 and our Yamaha 700r and they work great
    the only thing that would add iceing to the cake would be to install a wide band AFR gauge then you could see the AFR numbers while you are adjusting the JD tuner a great combo that is how we do it

    Can this be used to tame my throttle response from off throttle or idle to on throttle.its crazy sensitive like to much power right there and it’s impossible to ride at a slow speed?

    BEST ANSWER: I found that it helps a little but not much. It really improved the starting and responsiveness throughout the whole range but my 350excf is still pretty "on/off" jerky down low. I suggest trying a tamer throttle tube cam to lessen the initial hit off idle..a much cheaper option to try.

    Will this improve my 2012 YZ450F? I do have a Dubach Racing NS-4 on there and a twin air filter. I've already purchased it and have installed, but the bike hasn't been started up. Should I install a K&N Filter before mucking with the tuner. thanks!

    BEST ANSWER: I installed this on my 2011 KTM 350 SXF with factory exhaust, upgraded FMF silencer and Twin air filter. I also have a Motion Pro Rev 2 throttle kit. I was planning on adjusting the tuner before but decided to wait. Good thing I did because the pre-programed mode for the bike was spot on and cleaned up the issue I wanted fixed right out of the box. I suggest to try the JD pre-programed setting for your bike first. That way you will know your base line and then you can adjust from there. Hope this was helpful!
    There is some disagreement on what JD P/N is correct for a FE450 Husqvarna 2017 edition.
    I have had to send another brand back to the supplier because it would not work. Being up in BC in Canada,, I am trying to avoid the same hassle.
    I have been told the JD HQX15 is the correct model, by JD themselves, but your site says that # is for the 501? Just trying to avoid losing time and money on freight 2x2 if it is wrong....bike is 2017 FE 450

    sorry my question wasn't specific enough 15/16 crf450r has a 3 map option on the handlebars . Standard/ Reduced Power/ Aggressive Power. Can I remap all 3 Options to make them different or at lease pull a little stronger through the gear ? Plus if you disconnect the unit does the remapping go a way?

    BEST ANSWER: Yes, you would be able to remap them with this tuner and be able to get just the right setting you need. If you disconnect the the tuner, the mapping will not work. It has to be installed on the machine.
