Glad to get ride of Fat ODI lock on grips
2020 ktm xc-w has fat ODI grips, which I did not like.
These have smaller diameter and are much more comfortable for long trail rides standing up 90% of time. I can also install the grip pattern and brand that I prefer.

    NO MORE LOCK-ON GRIPS
I don’t like lock on grips..... they don’t feel comfortable after a few minutes of riding. So I decided to remove them OEM ODI grips and install classic grips, best decision ever. Now it feels like it should. Perfect fit, easy to install.

Can I change the cams to where the rotation is faster?
    rob m on Nov 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Depends on which bike. On a 2 stroke KTM no. On the fourstrokes you get 2 cams to choose from. I believe the 250 came standard with the "fast" cam and the 450 came with the "slow" rotation one installed from the factory. I've got a 2017 450xcf and this is how it read in my manual.
Wanting to change out my stock lock on grips for standard pillow grips that I like better. Can I cut the end of the throttle tube off to use my hand guards that mount in the bar ends? I assume, but the other tubes say no to using bar end mounted guards
    Michael F on Sep 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes that is exactly why I bought this product, I sawed the end off to use my probend handguards with the protaper grips.
I plan on adding grip heaters to a 2019 KTM 300 XC-W TPI which has lock on grips. I see the PDF instructions on the KTM website for the heaters say the throttle tube is necessary to install on bikes with lock on grips. Please excuse my ignorance but since these are called "throttle" tubes does that mean these are only used on the throttle side and that no tube would be necessary on the clutch side? I would think a tube would be necessary on both sides since the lock on grips are in fact on both sides.
    Roderick S on Apr 12, 2019
BEST ANSWER: In essence, the throttle tube you're looking at is meant to replace the lock-on grip on the throttle side with an old-fashioned grip. So you'll be installing standard grips on both the left and right side of your handlebars. Tube is only necessary on the throttle side. The grip on the left side, or clutch side, will mount directly to the handle bars with no tube.
