Details

The Lectron Carburetor is a unique jet-less carburetor that’s gained a cult following for needing minimal adjustment, being flexible enough to match drastically changing riding environments, and the solution to an array of hard to fix jetting issues.

Starting with the company itself, Lectron has been around for years with experience that ranges from fine tuning EFI throttle bodies on street bikes to developing carbs on some of the highest performing off-road motorcycles. Using that experience, Lectron created their jet-less carburetor—a design that uses a metering rod and precisely calculated fluid dynamics to pull the perfect amount of fuel into your engine.

Using this metering rod technology, Lectron’s carburetor is able to self-adjust to changes and conditions that would otherwise negatively affect your air-to-fuel ratio and cause poor performance. With the Lectron, changes in condition like temperature, elevation, and humidity have almost no effect on the performance of your bike. The Lectron carburetor will still provide full power, smooth power delivery, and reliability that will seemingly never change once it’s dialed in.

Because of these characteristics, the Lectron has gained popularity among two-stroke machine owners, enduro riders, and as a solution for certain carbs that are particularly hard to jet correctly. Watch our video above for more information on the Lectron Carburetor and to see if it will work for your application.
  • NOTE:The High Velocity Lectron Carburetor is the more aggressive option. Lectron recommends using the High Velocity for highly tuned motors, big bore kits, and anyone looking for additional performance gains throughout the entire powerband.

    Specs:
  • Metering rod design eliminates traditional jets
  • Jetless design auto-adjusts to wide variety of conditions
  • Minimal impact from elevation, humidity, and temperature change
  • Direct fitment in place of stock carb
  • Tapered bore
  • May help improve fuel economy
  • Smoother power delivery than stock
  • Increased performance
  • Clear float bowl for easy monitoring
  • Made in the U.S.A.

Still impressed with second one I’ve purchased!
I bought this expensive upgrade, because I absolutely hate jetting my bikes. It is the second one I have purchased. I literally bolted it in, ran the throttle cable, and started the bike. Small adjustment to set the idle, and ran it out! I raced the next weekend, in the first IXCR hairscramble race of 2019. I was thoroughly impressed, as I literally got zero ride time on the bike, before the race. Throttle response felt crisp, and bike felt like it was reving a bit higher. I was dealing with a rich condition with the factory carb, that I couldn’t get to clean up at all! All in all, this is a very expensive upgrade, but it has made my life with bike prep much easier, as the bike ran great with virtually a bolt on product that was never really tested before I showed up in Attica, IN.

Great product!
Bought for my 300 xc! More time riding! Less time tuning the carb for weather and elevation. I did have to richen it up a little bit. I thought it was running to lean for me.

Works great! Clean, crisp power!
Works great after getting it tuned! Was a little rich on the needle and power jet out of the box. I have a lot of aftermarket parts and mods so I expected some tuning. Take your time and adjust in small increments. Their tech support is very helpful if you have something unique. It's really nice to be able to adjust it without a box of jets. And with only 3 adjustments it really simplifies it. Fitment was a little tight with it pushing back on the air boot. As for durability only time will tell. If it works this good at all elevations who needs TPI !!

Great addition to any two stroke here in CO. In my opinion, no noticeable loss of power from 5000 to 11,000. 69 hours on the bike and piston wash and plug look great.

Wish I didn't have to buy, but totally worth it.
I have a 2017 TE300 that comes stock with the Mikuni carb, and ride in Colorado anywhere from about 5,000 to 12,000'. I'm by no means a jetting expert, but I'm reasonably competent in the shop, and I just couldn't get the Mikuni to make me happy since it didn't seem to have a very wide usable range -- I could dial it in for 2000' of gain or so, but anything more than that would leave things a little soft at other elevations. I tried the JD kit, and didn't have very good luck with that either (though it's worked great on other bikes I've had).

I didn't want to spend the nearly $500 for this Lectron, but I'm glad I did and I wish I did it sooner. It's literally a "don't think about it" part once it's installed. I've been riding in that same 5-12k' elevation range, and not once have I had to adjust it since getting it. It just continues to pull, with a very linear delivery, at every elevation and every condition.

While the performance is incredible, I wasn't too happy with the installation. On my bike the Lectron is about 10mm longer than the stock carb, which makes for a very difficult fit since the air boot is solid plastic instead of rubber that has some give. I eventually made it fit, but it's really tight and definitely not a "direct fit" as they might have you think.

In the end, I wish that my $10k bike would come from the factory with a carb that actually works well in a wide range of elevations and conditions, but it didn't. The Lectron is expensive, yes, but it works really well, and at the end of the day that's all that really matters. The fitment could be better, but that's a minor annoyance to an otherwise awesome product.

IF YOU OWN A KTM TWO STROKE DONT THINK ABOUT IT JUST BUY IT. After your first ride then you can thank me.
I was scared to spend half a grand on a new carb when the bike I just bought (2018 KTM150SX) was brand new as well. After having issues with adjusting the proper jetting it seemed like every ride, I broke down and purchased the Lectron. If you want to retain stock grips (ODI CLAMP) then get the 1inch longer throttle cable for factory routing. Installation was easier than having to pay for he carb for sure lol the air boot you had to man handle a bit but once it’s installed the rest is cake. I’m glad I did buy this carb I only had to make one adjustment to the carb when I installed it and it was to turn down the idle just a hair. I’ve put around 15 hours on the carb running VP racing C9 and changing filter skins after every ride and the bike runs amazing. If you own a KTM just do yourself a favor and purchase the Lectron

First impression!
As advertised, easy install, plug and play. I only have one ride with it so far and I did not make any adjustments. Fairly cool day; 40 degrees F elevation 4000-6500 ft. Started right up
Let it warm up for a few minutes and went for a ride. The first thing I noticed was smooth low end power, as the rpm increased, nice smooth linear power curve all the way to the top of the power curve. I’m very impressed so far and I’m looking forward to riding at much higher elevation next spring !!

Hey guys so I have a 2017 te300 and i was wanting to get one of these lecteron ocarbs as I can be at different altitudes all the time but just can't get my head around on the tunning like do you still have to change the jets or not ? And I just can't get my head around how it works how does it change itself for altitudes and temperatures with out you doing anything ?
Jordan W on Mar 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The Lectron carburetor is very different from a standard carburetor as found on your TE. Rather than using jets to control fuel it uses a metering rod. The metering rod is shaped in such a way that the more air that flows through the carb, the more fuel it pulls and vice versa. So it's constantly mixing just the right amount of fuel for your altitude and temperature.
According to what I have found online (dirtbikechannel on youtube). The 2017 300 XC needs the intake flange on the reed cage side from the XCW models in order to fit correctly. The airbox rubber is stiffer this year than previous years and does not allow enough flexing. Does this kit come with the required intake flange?
CAULIN B on Mar 31, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the XC-W intake flange is included with the carburetor if your machine requires it, as is the case with the 300XC.
does this carb come preset right out of the box for your specific bike?
A shopper on Oct 18, 2018
BEST ANSWER: If you order it for your bike, its set for that bike..
I ordered for my 2015 ktm XCW, instaled it, hit the starter and bam its running...
I had to adjust the new cable, that's it!
Love this thing,
I ride at sea level in the winter months and 6800 feet in the summer. No adjustments needed
Can the stock throttle housing be used with the 1” longer cable?
Dan C on Jun 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The kit comes with a new throttle housing. It was my understanding that the 1" longer cable is used if you route the throttle cable in front of the bars instead of routing it behind the bars and down between the tank and the frame. If you want to use the stock grips you will need to also order a cable adapter that snaps on the end of the throttle tube and works with the new throttle housing. The stock one does not work and the kit does not come with one. Hope that helps you out.
I have a 2017 TC250 Husqvarna (aka 2017 250 SX KTM) I ordered this already but waiting for delivery. But I am wondering if the carb is set up specifically for the model, year and make that was ordered and if so, who has set it up? RMATV or are they already set up according to make, model and year by Lectron before supplying to RAMTV?
Mike S on Apr 17, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It's a plug and play carb Mike. I installed one on my 2018 KTM 300XCW, took it for a ride and decided to richen the needle about 1/3 turn. Other than that, I haven't touched it, not even the idle. I and two of my friends all have this carb on our KTM 300 XCWs, two are 2018 and one is 2016 XCW Six Days. This carb is simply magical and makes my bike run like a perfectly jetted bike from below zero temps in the winter to the hot summer days. I seriously don't understand why KTM doesn't abandon the fuel injection concept and just sells their bikes with this carb. It's relatively inexpensive for what it accomplishes.
Am I able to run ODI lock on grips still? Or need to get a throttle tube and grips
Connor r on May 21, 2019
BEST ANSWER: You can still run the ODI grips but you will need a new can on the grip. I bought new ODI grips since the come with a couple different cams, switched the right cam onto my current grips, and ran that until I needed to put on the new grips on. I then put the same cam on the new grips and continued.
How do u kw if u need 1" or 3" cable?
JAMES M on Feb 9, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The way I understood it is if your cable runs behind the handle bars you would use the 1", if your cable runs in front of the handlebars you would use the 3". I ordered the carb for a 2017 KTM 150. Cable runs behind the handle bars between the frame and the tank. 1" is what I was told to order from Lectron and it worked just fine.
I have a 2017 KTM 250 XC. When
ordering the Lectron High Velocity Power Jet Carb kit, it tells me to select a size. +1" cable or +3" cable. Which do I need?
BRIAN K on Nov 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I got the +1 for my 2017 KTM 150 and it worked great. The +1 is for running the cable the same way it is stock. You should also contact Lectron and order the cam for you stock grips. It is only $1.50 and snaps right on your stock grips so you don’t have to get new ones to work with the new throttle cable set up.
I have a 2018 tx300 and would love to get one of these carbs as i do not like the mikuni. Do i need the high velocity model or just the normal model? Thanks
Bryson G on Sep 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You will need the high velocity kit and I think this is clear when you go to order.

I have fitted a Lectron and have following comments - The replacement throttle provided (motion pro) is quite honestly of appalling quality and be careful that you do not break it ! The casting is very cheap and brittle. I think the Lectron is actually a very good compromise as everyone struggling to setup that Mikuni carb.

Other options though alos include a JD jet kit or simply retrofitting the Keihin carb with your favourite jets and settings if you are very familiar with them ! PS Great bike
I have a 09 KTM 505 will this carb allow it to start on its own in the cold?
A shopper on Jan 11, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I have a 2018 ktm 150 sx and compared to the stock carb yea absolutely where I would have had to pull the choke on stock, the lectron is well built and starts right
up I had to call because I choked it when it was pretty cold And was bogging when Choke was on, turned Choke off and ran fine. Been to the track a few times and super happy with mine. HUGE mpg increase also.
What metering rod comes on the 2019 KTM 300 XC?
Clay G on Dec 14, 2018

I have a Lectron card on my 2018 ktm xcw 150 , can this carb be retro fitted on my 2018 husqvarna te 250? the part # seems the same except for the last number. possibly a different needle or slide?
Mark N on Nov 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I would contact Lectron directly. You probably only need a needle but they can tell you which one as the carbs are tuned to the specific bike. Slide is possibly different too but they will tell you. Cheers!
I have a 2014 beta 300 rr and the .lectron carb it too long, it even hits the rear suspension. Do I have the wrong one or what do I have to do to make it fit?
Charles H on Jan 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: First did you order the carb specifically for you particular bike or just get any Lectron carb that was avaliable? When I got one for my 2017 KTM sx 150 I was sent a air box boot that was shorter than the stock one to use Otherwise the carb would have been to long to fit in the stock set up. Perhaps you need a shorter fitting for the carb’s attachment to the engine. I would contact RM ATV/MC or Lectron and ask them what fits your specific model cycled
I know the Lectron carb works wonders for elevation changes, how about drastic temperature changes? I live in a area that in the fall, one week it could be 60 and sunny then the next it could be mid 30's and rainy. Also I plan to get studded tires and ride when the snow hits the ground, does the Lectron carb do just fine in any temperature? Even below zero? Thanks.
Benjamin Y on Oct 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I can't speak for low tempertures but I live in SoCal and mine has run great without any changes to it in tempertures from 100+ to upper 40s degrees Since it has been installed on my 2017 sx 150 I have not needed to make any adjustments, it is exactly the same as when it came out of the box. Starts first kick except on the cooler mornings and I forget it needed to have the choke on then 1st or 2nd kick. Has great low end(for a 150 2S) and screams on top end. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or buy another one if I needed one for another bike. Probably the closest thing to having fuel injection
I have a 2017 husq tc125. I haven't been happy with jetting issues with the mikuni carb.i just purchased the 150 kit for the bike and will install shortly.i may at some time switch back to 125cc.there are different kit numbers for the 150 vs 125.wondering about the difference in carbs, which one to order?
scott s on Aug 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Ok, so i dont know much difference between the high velocity one and the regular, but the high velocity lectron carb is incredible!! We went from a 20 degree at 700 meters, to 10 degree-23degree at 2300 meters one day. Then a 800meters at 20 degress to 2000 meters at 20 degrees on second day. Then 3rd day was a 30 degree day at 1000 meters. All those elevations starting around 700-1000 meters at base of mountain. They tuned perfectly for us, loads of power, and our fuel consumption got better. We had to make one minor adjustment to the metering valve to lean ours out at first, but we figured that out within 200 meters up amd down the street. Anyways, its super simple and works like a charm. Havent had to any adjustments since.
What cam do I need so I can use my ODI lock on grips with the Vortex throttle tube?
Marc S on Jul 28, 2017

On my 17 tx300 would the +1 cable be the one i need?
A shopper on Jun 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The +1 would work fine. The +1 is for running the throttle cable the same as it is stock. The longer option is for running the cable in front of the triple clamp.

I have a beta x trainer. I think it is the same stock carb as the rr. My question is will this fit and also my bike is oil injected. Will this mess and of that up. I am not sure if the oil line goes through the carb or directly into the engine?
