An awesome and handy little device for holding the tire bead inside the rim when mounting tires. It handy for all dirt bike tires but especially helpful when mounting the stiff sided DOT dual sport tires to my EXC wheels.
It will save your knuckles, the awkward angles when trying to use tire tools to hold the bead below the rim edge while trying to get to the other tools to seat the tire. Wish we had these decades ago!!
Simply the best . I've bought the generic versions and they broke . So I bought the Motion Pro and love it . I currently Have 3 dirt bikes I care for . We ride allot so I change lots of tires .Once you learn how to use them they make tire changing a breeze . The trick is …. after you hook the tool around the spoke you push it down into the rim. Its like it goes in another level . Down into the valley of the rim. At first I just hooked it on and started spooning. Once I found the trick life is good . High quality and worth the extra cash .
This simple tool really helps a lot, especially for no more trouble than it is to use. Keeps the bead of the tire near the center of the rim so it is easier to get the bead on at the top. Made changing the tire about 25% easier.
Before I bought this, I really didn't like changing tires. To be clear, after buying this, I still REALLY don't like changing tires. But when I have to, this tool does what it's supposed to, and without fail. It's a simple (yet brilliant) design. I have decided never to change my own tires again. But if I'm forced to, I will at least look forward to using this when I do.
Very handy little device. I wouldn't be afraid to do a tire, no, the least cooperative tire ever, tired, hungry, in a freezing rain, within earshot of a dozen sweet little old nuns. Hate to sound like a RONCO commercial but..."It really, really works!"
It also can perform two other functions wheel chock and a temporary side stand foot enlarger...if you can stick your side stand foot into the open side and if the hooked tab makes contact with the leg ( even if it tips up a bit, as long as there if weight on it from the foot and it contacts the leg it will work), wrap some gorilla tape around both to keep it from slipping if it does sink some, it may just keep your baby from taking a mud nap at some soggy campsite.
I bought one, now i own 2. Tire change times cut in half. A bit of finagling is required on BMW GSA spokes, but still works and works great on the DRZ. I don't carry with me, but for changes at home, i love it. No more sore knees from pushing knobbies into the drop center and holding them there.
