I've been told many times to try Motul in my Triumph Tiger 1050 for the sole purpose of making the shifting smoother (less "clunk" into 1st gear and gliding into other gears). I doubted that it would make much difference, oil is oil right? But I'm now convinced and will pay the extra money for Motul. My bike definitely shifts smoother now.
No seriously, as others mentioned, buttery smooth shifting. Use it in my R6 track bike. Probably overkill for normal street riding but if the motor spends most of it's time above 10000 rpm, why risk putting cheap oil in there?
Great Product, I have ran this oil in all of my race bikes for the past 6 or 7 years. I get the most life out of this oil compared to many other brands that I've used over the years, and my engine components have lasted considerably longer. Don't cheap out on the lifeblood of your engine!
well, pretty much, oil is oil.. i know, yell and scream and debate me to death... but there are different needs for different oils... this oil right here works well in my 2014 drz400sm... i have a little over 10,000 trouble free miles. i change the oil at 1000 to 2000 miles... never longer then 2000... this stuff smells awesome and makes the shifts buttery smooth... its green in color and from what i can tell, gets rid of the drz rattle earlier in the warm up then other oils i have tried... the price is a little high, but nothing is too much for my little deezer... hahaha
Synthetic is a far superior oil and I have never seen this product thermally break down / separate on a metal stick. Has special stuff for a wet clutch and that is critical. My bike ( R6) revs to 16,500 and deserves the best. Thermal breakdown of my engine would be insane to repair - can't afford to take that chance, can you?
Love this stuff been using it for 10 years!! run it in all 3 of my bikes! IF your serious about your bike and it lasting use nothing but Motul!! Have never had a engine, valve or cluth/tranny issues!! Green tint makes it easy to see thru the peek lens on my CRF450. GREAT QUALITY STUFF, spend the extra money, you wont regret it!!
One of the best base stock oils that money can buy, looks and smells great, smooth clutch control, and shifts, decreased consumption, and the added benefit of saying that your bike is lubricated by double ester linkage chemical technology from France. Used (humorously) in my xr650r.
I have been using this oil in my road racing bike for about 18 months. It is a bit pricey, but Motul has a good reputation and my bike has a race-prepared engine, so it needs quality oil. I like the oil's green color and can gauge the deterioration in the crankcase's site glass level. I change the engine oil after every race weekend, which is about every 300 miles.
This is the only oil Ive ever used where I can actually tell a difference in the way my bikes run. Ive been using it in both my street & dirt bikes for a couple years now & wont use anything else period. Expensive , yes a bit but so are engine repairs. Cheap insurance to me.
