Was skeptical at first, have had trouble with cheaper chains in the past. This kit is different! Really nice chain and sprockets. Have not adjusted the chain after 8 hours ride time and still looking brand new. Also this is the first O-ring chain I didn’t have to fight with to get the master link pressed together. Also was the perfect length for a 2016 YZ250F, didn’t cut a thing! Great set for the money.
Bought this set, I am 250 pound expert/vet rider on my honda CRF450R and love to over jump everything and ride sand mostly and 20 hours on this red alum sprocket and x ring chain adjusted chain only twice and still lots of hours to go on them. Don't waste money on expensive stuff, this is just as good if not better to buy than expensive stuff.
Fit and finish is not as nice as KTM OEM and DID chains, but looks pretty decent and I've read good reviews about wear life.
But what can I say...it turns the rear wheel and fits on the bike. The front sprocket actually seems a tad thicker than the OEM KTM sprocket, so we'll see if that helps any with the annoying countershaft seepage.
Just like the title says the oem info for the above bike is incorrect. This chain and sprocket combo is awesome. I have bought several for the Honda CRFs that I have had in the past. Just beware you need to order a chain that is 114 links for the 2017 Ktm 450 sx-f
Bought this for rmz450 and yz250x and they are top notch quality. Sprockets are strong as heck and chain is easy to install and clean. Definitely will buy the Primary Drive kit again.
I’ve been running the primary drive x-ring chain for years. Never had an issue with any of them. They go on my sons bike and my own. Between racing, trail and track riding last year I changed my sons chain and sprockets twice. I couldn’t say how many hours but usually when I change everything out the chains are still good it’s the sprockets that start to show wear. The primary drive x-ring chain will out last it’s sprockets by a long shot. You will start to see missing teeth on the sprockets before the chain goes bye bye.
Bought for both quality and value. Fit perfect and after initial ride experienced little or no chain stretch. Glad I made the choice of this chain and sprockets.
Really great parts/look for a really great price. Came in the mail super fast. When I called because i had a question about my order Rocky Mountain was on point. Thanks
-m-2013 KTM 300 XC-W (E-Start)-- best chain for the money. My friends have been running for years and last as long as more expensive chains I use to buy. Convinced me to switch
Primary Drive delivers quality products at a budget price
High quality chain and sprockets. Put a set on last race season, still going strong. Very little stretch. Hardly any noticeable wear. Sprockets last just as long as name brands three times the price
Best chains I have used. I have 150+ hours on two of these chain and sprocket kits. Front sprockets were replaced around 80 hours. Chains still in great shape
Durable chain at a great price. Why pay more for for some fancy name when Primary Drive will do the job just as well for less $. Who could tell anyway? Once it's covered with lube and dirt there is no way to tell the difference. Save your money and buy this chain.
Machine this part was bought for: 2008 KTM 530 XC-W
Restoring rm250, perfect fit. Broke master clip on install (didn't read instructions!) picked up master at local dealer , worked like a champ. Little to no stretch yet. Many rides later still looks new. No wave forming in rear sprocket, even though Aluminum... Saved around 30% buying package deal. Will put on all our bikes in future. Thanks again RMMC!
Machine this part was bought for: 1997 SUZUKI RM250
the X-ring chain has stretched a little but nothing out of the normal for a new chain. the front sprocket is going well but the aluminium rear sprocket is wearing out quicker than it should.
I would recommend this chain and front sprocket but the rear aluminium sprocket is the weak point. steel rear sprocket would see this set lasting for a long time
Machine this part was bought for: 2011 YAMAHA YZ450F
I've had many chains & sprockets over the years and I always thought you get what you pay for and that just isn't true.. these chains and sprockets have held up as well or even better than the $120+ chains i've purchased in the past
Best bang for the buck, sprockets usually only wear when the chain stretches from old age or poor maintenance (no lube or no cleaning) . On my second set and they up graded the rear sprocket. The last set lasted long enough to wear through my chain guides.
Did not get the Primary Drive swingarm stickers in this order, but completely satisfied with this product.

IVE HAD ANOTHER REVEIW I WROTE ABOUT THESE CHAINS AND THATS BECAUSE I PUT THEM ON ALL MY MACHINES. THE LONG LASTING DURABILITY OF THE CHAINS.THEY DONT STRETCH LIKE OTHER CHAINS DO AND THAT SHOWS THE STRENGTH AND HOW WELL THEY ARE BUILT. ILL BE BUYING THIS BRAND AND TYPE OF CHAIN AGAIN FOR MY NEW BIKE!
Why pay renthal 150to 200 bucks for the same thing. all your paying for is the name. primary drive products are good especially this set the chain had one initial stretch and thats it. sprockets are also perfect!!
after 500kms on my modified wr450f the chain has stretched slightly, gold has been worn off edges, and rear sprocket shows some slight wear. At this rate im expecting to get at least 2000km out of it and at $110 thats a great deal!
<br>1000km on it now and theres been no further wear or stretching. Will probably get much more than 2000km at this rate.
This is an awesome kit; Primary Drive produces quality chains and sprockets. I have put hundreds of miles on my chain and sprocket kit and it is still holding up, how can you beat that?
You won't get a nicer looking chain and a more durable set of sprockets! The chain is a bit wider than some of the name brands, but a little filing of your stock chain guide or a stronger aftermarket item will have you on down the trail in no time! I get over two seasons with these sprockets!
After a weekend of hard MX racing, the chain and front sprocket performed very well. The rear sprocket did not. The rear sprocket after one day started to wave top, and was missing a tooth. The chain and front sprocket held up very well, and I will race on both of several more times before replacement.
Tech Note: Aluminum rear sprockets are not recommended for the above mertioned siuation. Please be sure to use a steel sprocket for extreme conditions.
This sprocket and chain set is very good quality at a great price. All of the pieces were very good quality (it is not as "bling" as a Tag though) and fit well. I have about 100 miles on it and mine just now needs the first adjustment, there is no unusual wear so far.
Another poster stated that their kit did not come with a master link but mine did. I bought a separate master and now have a spare (not a bad thing). Perhaps Rocky Mountain needs to update the description on their kits to definitely say that they do or do not supply a master.
The sprockets are great, but the chain gave me problems. I would buy the sprockets again seperately. The chain held up good but if you need a masterlink you will have to order from Rocky Mountain. That doesnt work in the middle of Baja.
BEST ANSWER:There are pros and cons to both. the Xring chain has a higher tinsel strength as well as will keep the lubricant in longer. they do have more drag the the O-ring chains. meaning the O-ring chains will turn more freely.

BEST ANSWER:its different on every bike. usually a big socket( depends on the bike for the size) or something to remove a circlip with. the sprocket bolts are either torques or allens. usually a 7. again this varies for every bike. if you look at your bike you have then you will see everything you need to take it off and put it on.

I have a Ktm Xcw 250 2016, the OEM front sprocket is 13, the rear is 50 and the chain is a DID 520 VT2. Will this kit bring the same replacement parts?
Hi Florencia. The only reason i question this is because in the course of my research i have found a couple of the "complete" wheels say 49 tooth yet my 2016 YZ250F has a 50 tooth on it currently. I think ive found the solution by going with the tusk set and just build them with the rest of the parts necessary to make them truly complete. Thank you for the reply.
I'm sorry for any confusion that may have caused. I doubled checked this kit and compared it with your stock specs. The rear tooth count is 50 tooth for this kit.

i have 2014 crf450 tried your gold chain and it has a clearance problem around counter shaft sprocket do you have a thinner o ring or xring chain available?

BEST ANSWER:The CRF450 requires a countershaft spacer to run an X-ring or O-ring chain. Primary drive doesn't have a thinner ring chain available.
