Probably my worst ever RMATV purchase. the retract mechanism worked about the first 5 times, then stopped retracting, which made them worthless, could not be used. I'm not sure what to do with them because they look brand new but cant be used.
I am extremely pleased with these tie downs. The ratchet feature solves the problem of tiring off strap ends and having them get loose while towing and blowing in the wind. The built in ratchet also makes storage quick and neat. No more rolling up straps to store. This is the only type of strap I will purchase and use from now on!! Take a good look at this product and try it out, I'm sure you will be pleased!

Recommend it? Maybe. This reminds me of a product that has been overly cost-reduced. Specifically, the stamped metal that comprises most of this product is, IMO, unsuitably thin. What can happen then is that if the strap gets misaligned during use and somehow "misfeeds" into the mechanism, the metal deforms and you're stuck with a device that is semi-FUBAR until the metal is restored to more or less factory shape. I admit it... I'm a klutz. But I know I'm not the only one out there. So...my advice is to use this device very carefully when tightening and to keep the mech lubed with a little non-graphite dry lube. Keep that strap in the middle of the bobbin when tightening!
These are heavy duty, but the retractor springs are not strong enough to wind up the strap all the way. Also, The locking mechanism gets stuck open when tightening the strap so sometime you need to use one hand to tighten the strap and one to hold the locking mechanism/stop plate in place. I have oiled them and that has helped, but still experiencing issues with them.
