Imagine the perfect sprocket and it will have looks, light weight, and a long lasting life. Perfect is a lot to ask for, luckily the Talon Rear Alloy Sprocket comes pretty close.

Talon creates each of their sprockets by machining them from 7075 T-6 aluminum alloy to such a high standard, the company has attained ISO 9001 and Guild of Master Craftsman certifications. The Rear Alloy Sprockets feature precision cleaning grooves that shed mud and abrasive build up away from the wearing surfaces of your sprocket and chain, making both components last much longer. Finish everything off with a much lighter weight than stock and a spotless anodized finish that match factory colors, and you have an amazing sprocket that’s ready to rip.

    Specs:
  • Replacement aluminum rear sprocket
  • Fits and installs just like your stock sprocket
  • Grooves clear buildup away from sprocket teeth
  • Machined from 7075 T6 aluminum alloy
  • Weighs less than OEM sprocket
  • Hard anodized finish
  • Several colors available
  • Talon is Guild of Master Craftsman and ISO 9001 certified

Good average aluminum sprocket.
The talon rear sprocket was installed with new chain and front sprocket. I can see already that it will have a shorter life than I would prefer, maybe 20 hours. That being said it has performed well and met my needs especially at the price point.

Talon rear sprocket
Nicely machined, color was spot on for my KTM - zero issues. You can spend more, but I doubt you'll get any better than Talon

Super Light
Switched from steel to hybrid to all alum since always good to replace the sprockets with the chain. This one has less alum then the other alum ones due to its design so its lighter and works great.

Awesome sprocket
I bought this to replace my worn out Renthal sprocket. So far its nice and light weight, looks beautiful and seems to have a far better build quality then the other brands Ive used before. Works like it should!

What's the right chain Slack?
JEFF K on Jan 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Usually 2 fingers between the chain and guide on top of the swing arm is pretty close. I also wrap a shop towl between the chain and sprocket before tighting the axle nut. Just fold it over a few times stick it between the chain and sprocket and roll the wheel back. Helps pull the axle blocks tight against the adjusters.
Determining number of sprocket teeth?
Daniel P on Dec 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The higher number of teeth the more torque which is used for more tight and technical riding
The lower number of teeth the more top speed which is used for more wide open fast riding
