Special Notes:

  • Will not work with an oversize tank.
If you want to keep your bike running cool on slow, technical trails, the Trail Tech Digital Radiator Fan Kit is a simple and effective solution.

Trail Tech kits bolt on to your stock radiator using supplied brackets and hardware. You won’t have to splice any coolant lines since the temperature sensor easily mounts in-between your radiator’s cooling fins, and getting your new fan up and running is easy with the included wiring harness and low 30-watt power draw.

When you’re ready to ride, the fan’s backlit, digital readout displays the coolant temp and records peak temperatures so you can know exactly how hot your bike has been running. You’ll also know when the fan is working since the temperature trigger point is customizable to whatever temperature you decide works best.

    Specs:
  • Fits stock radiator
  • Machine specific instructions included
  • Direct plug wiring harness provided
  • No cutting fluid lines, sensor fits between rad fins
  • Plugs into most stock harnesses
  • Backlit digital display
  • Programmable trigger temperature for fan
  • Records max coolant temps
  • Low 30 watt draw
  • Kit contains:
    -4in. 147CFM fan
    -TTV digital temp meter
    -Radiator bracket
    -Temp sensor
    -Wiring harness

Never overheat again!
I highly recommend these fan kits I have 2 of them now and wouldn't ride without them. I ride tight tails and hare scrambles and never have issues overheating. One of the best upgrades to protect your machine!

Mixed feelings
After switching to Cycra plastic and cleaning up the jetting on my '15 XCW 300, I was experiencing some overheating during a harescramble with significant elevation changes. The trail tech fan has been reviewed and recommended by several and I decided to add it to the bike. After installing the fan and on the way to the next race in Matador, TX, I noticed coolant leaking from the radiator. The radiator couldn't be repaired or replaced on the road so I returned home and disassembled the bike. The radiator which didn't leak before the fan install now leaks in the area where a fan installation screw is installed. I replaced the radiator with new as the hole is deep in the fins. Rather than risk the 8 mm long screws provided by Trail Tech, I found a set of 6mm long screws for a Stihl application on Amazon. Trail Tech customer service was notified and photos were provided to them as well. I think it was just one of those things where the screw deformed a fin just so and opened the hole.

Trail Tech customer support has offered a discount if I wish to purchase something else but declines to help with the losses - replacement radiator was $160, $80 in fuel, and $60 entry fee to Boondockers Enduro. No assessment provided for missing the epic race conditions.

I'm not sure how to take the discount offer not knowing how much I would have to spend to compensate for $260. There are places that offer radiator repair, probably for less money, but to be honest, I didn't bother as it isn't something I'd have repaired and worry about in every deep sand hill climb from now on.

I've been on a couple deep sand rides since with the fan in place and it is working as advertised. Should you decide to add a fan to your Austrian dance partner, consider locating 6 mm long screws ahead of time.

Exactly the same as KTM fan kit for less money
The KTM fan kit IS a Trail Tech fan kit, so save yourself some money and skip the orange temp gauge bezel.

How does this fan hold up to water....creek crossings, cleaning, rain?
Paul R on Aug 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have installed this on teo of my off road bikes and have not had any problem with water, including washing it, creek crossings or rain. They have sealed up the control unit very well along with the fan. It is pretty well protected behind the radiator shroud next to the fuel tank.
I have 2016 KTM XCF 350 with Enduro Engineering radiator guards. Will this fan work with the radiator guards? Thanks
Vladimir C on Dec 20, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The best way to be sure if this fan kit works with your radiator guards is to call Enduro Engineering. Also you should cross reference the radiator gaurd info for your bike to see if they will work with the fan kit. I know that the enduro engineering guards work with the stock fan on my 2016 Husky FE350.
Has anyone used it, or heard of a successful use with a 2011 KTM 350 SXF? Mine overheats regularly while trail riding after about 45 minutes.
Ken S on Nov 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: So I used one on a Husky FX350, and never had an issue even with ridiculous mud races. I would also recommend a CV4 radiator cap. These bikes are made to keep moving, so without a fan they will overheat in slower trails especially If you stop here and there. Make sure that your battery is good/new or the fan will kill it pretty quick. Also, don’t set it too low as it will constantly be on which can also be bad for your battery. I set mine to come on at 195 degrees F.
Does the 2016 KTM have a connector in the harness for the trail tech fan? Thanks.
David S on Jul 31, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Just bought a 2017 model 2 days ago and was told it does and since there really wasn't a lot of changes from 2016 it might. However I own a 2013 and put this exact kit on it and used the supplied wire harness and went straight to the battery and haven't had a single issue since it does have an inline fuse built into the harness. just make sure to set your temp correctly so you aren't running the fan all the time, it gets annoying. When you aren't running the bike use a battery maintainer to keep your battery in tip top condition since you don't have a stator.
I have the Works Connection radiator braces on my CRF 450X... is there room for this fan and if so has anyone seen much improvement in low speed clutchy terrain cooling?
TOR B on Sep 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The answer is no. Trail Tech uses side and rear of radiator for mounting of the fan unit. That issue along with the brace used for the temperature display/control unit will not fit using the rear facing design of Works Connectiion Radiator Braces.
The Trail Tech Fan Kit is an excellent and durable product. However, if your motorcycle is jetted improperly, has faults in cooling system or your riding style includes execessive clutch abuse (a well known factor of heat build up that some won't admit to), no fan kit is a guarantee. In this case, an electric fan set at the proper temperature will surely benefit your motorcycle at low speed conditions with minimum air flow.
I have a 2009 KTM 300 xc. Does this fan plug into my bike? Also, my "generator" or stator or whatever it is supposed to be called is 12v and 100w. I run my headlight as well. Am I going to need a voltage regulator or a new stator or both for this fan and a light? I have a battery as well.
Paul R on Aug 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: If your bike has a factory plug in the harness next to the radiators the fan will plug directly into it and work just fine. The stator is large enough to handle the load from the fan which is very small. If no factory plug use the other wire harness and connect it to the battery.
I have used this on two of my bikes, 2012 Yamaha WR450 had no problems and my new bike 2016 Husqvarna TE300. I was very happy with this product on both bikes.
I have a 2018 KTM 300XC with the lastest Gen Bullet Proof designs Rad guards. Any fitment issues?
chris m on Dec 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have a 2018 Husky TX 300 so basically the same bike. The fan screws into the sides of the radiator into existing holes in the radiator. The bracket holding the fan comes from the back of the radiator to the sides. I have the Trail Tech radiator guards and there are no fitment issues. Can’t say how your guards attach but I’d bet it will work.
2012 ktm 350 xc f stator only puts out 20 watts i think. This fan draws 30w. Does this mean it is going to use the battery???
David K on Oct 1, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Not sure how much drain on the battery but have had this on my 2012 ktm 350xc for 3 years and have never had a problem with it draining the battery.
Will this kit fit a 2005 crf450r that has Fluidyne radiators and Devol radiator guards?
Juan T on Nov 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It was a tight fit on my 2004 crf450r with stock radiators. I put it on the rear of the right radiator, had to use zip ties through the radiator to hold the fan on and shoved the sensor in between the fins with another zip tie to hold it in.

I never had radiator guards so not sure if they would be in the way. The fan is great for trail riding, the bike can idle for ever without losing coolant.
Can this fan be mounted on the left radiator?
shannon l on Feb 11, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Not sure - 2 things the plug is routed on right side of bike that can be re-routed I believe- 2 the temp gage will be inside near engine? but I think it could be done
Will this fit with Enduro Engineering braces?
Jackson F on Sep 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: they say these fit radiator braces but with a really referring to his or her own brand of radiator braces. When I use them with Enduro engineering braces I had to do some trimming with a Dremel on the fan kid itself. The good news is it works great once you do that but it does require a little bit of your time. Look at the bright side you're saving weight :)
I have a 2016 KTM 300 XCW with bullet proof radiator guards will this fan kit fit and is there a factory supplied connection?
A shopper on Apr 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have a 2012 KTM 350exc-f with bullet proof radiator guards and the Trail Tech Digital Radiator Fan Kit on it. They both fit great, no problems. The factory connection plug was under the gas tank on my bike. White plug I believe.
How do you see what the max temp is of the bike? Says it records max temp? How do you see those temps
George D on Oct 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It has a digital read out and it shows the current temperature. You can also program at what temperature the fan starts running. I have mine set to start running at 160 degrees.
I have a 2016 KTM 300xcw with enduro engineering radiator braces on. Will this fan still be able to mount on radiator?
Chris B on Jul 15, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Chris,
I have a 2016 Husqvarna TE300, very similar bike. I also have the Enduro Engineering radiator braces. I did have to do some minor tweaking of the fan bracket but was able to get it to go on and it still looks and works great.
If you are handy with basic hand tools you will have no problem, good luck 👍
Would this fan fit on a 2005 CRF250R?
Chris O on Dec 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi there, if I remember there are universal electrical connectors as well as a factory KTM plug, are you pretty good at doing modifications, you are gonna need an area of about 5" x 5" and about 2.5" deep between your gas tank and back side of a radiator, mine is on the right where the optional factory fan would go. Hope this helps you. Russ S.
Will these work with trail tech radiator guards? For a 2016 ktm 450 xcf. They have to have mounting holes on the outside like the oem ones do. Also will the trail tech fan work on them?

BEST ANSWER: These kits are exclusive to the bike you purchase, I have them installed on both my CRF450X and CRF450RX aswell. Down here in the south it can get really hot and this is a MUST! If you use radiator braces, there are slight mods needed to accept the trail tech fan kit.
does 2017 crf450RX have plugin for this fan? Do I need to get a different battery or anything else?
Stephen F on May 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I don’t know if the crf has a plug but it’s super easy to wire to the battery with the battery wire provided
Would this work with or has anyone managed to make these fit on a 2014 WR450F with the Devol radiator guards?
Dwight S on Nov 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I think that Trail Tech does put that into consideration. I own a 2008 KTM 300 XCW and have both the fan and Devol radiator guards on board, with zero fitment issues. I hope this helps.
Anyone with a 2018 250SX put a battery on the bike to run this fan? If so where did you get the battery kit?
Trevor F on Mar 10, 2019
BEST ANSWER: If you can find any leftover Ballistic Evo2 4 cell batteries they are perfect. Plenty of power and very small/lightweight. Ballistic went out of business unfortunately. I’ve used their stuff for years, it’s top notch.
