Needed to be modified for kx250f
I had to file the ends down, a lot, to make it work on a 2019 kx250f clutch hub. The tool seems to be built for bigger bikes, the tips were easily 2 almost 3 times wider than the clutch hub tooth gap. Couldn’t make it work for flywheel/magneto side. Comes with great instructions. Built solid.

Title is fitting for the use
We had broken our inner hub trying to fix our clutch. After buying and using this tool, it shows how perfect and easy the job is with the right tool.

Definitely worth it over traditional methods of holding the clutch/flywheel still
Used it twice so far on a YZ426 flywheel, and its incredibly more convenient than locking the engine with the rear brake or jamming a gear. Have yet to use on a clutch basket, but I'm confident it'll work.

Beware!!!
I purchased this as it had some decent reviews and I needed one to make the install of my Rekluse EXP easier. All I have to say is that it gored my center clutch and pressure plate pretty badly to the point where I had to go through and pick out the metal pieces it left behind from gouging my clutch up.

The tool worked to remove clutch assembly
The tool is not precision crafted best tool on earth, but it got the job done. I have other sets of locking grips and the quality on these with respect to the spring and locking mechanism is 4 stars.

heavy duty tool
Bought this to use on my 2009 Rhino to hold the primary clutch and it got it done but was to small for the application. If it were bigger it would have worked better.

Will this work on a KTM? 2013 300 xc specifically. The inner clutch hub has half round grooves NOT square so I'm wondering.
Ray F on May 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Not sure. Used on Honda 400ex worked like a charm. Should if u get tight enough. And try not to mar up grooves
Getting ready to change friction/steel plates on '17 KX 100. The manual says I need a Flywheel & Pulley Holder. Will this Tusk Clutch Holding tool suffice?
Dustin M on Oct 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This is not a machine specific tool, i am not sure it will work on the 17 100. i used this on my brothers kx 85 and it works but we are not sure on the 100. how ever if you are not planning on changing the clutch basket and just replacing the friction and steel plates this tool is not necessary.
Will it work on Suzuki DR650 and DR350?
A shopper on Sep 13, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It should. It is easily adjusted and will grab the out basket. Just be sure to not crush the basket.
Will this work for a ktm 50 sx clutch?
ben b on Dec 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I do not know if this tool will work on a KTM 50. I purchased for a yz250f. I was dissatisfied with this tool. It did not fit the clutch, therefore it does not hold the clutch to loosen or to torque.
will it work on the DRZ400 clutch ?
John F on Jan 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes it will work!
Will this work on a 2002 Yamaha Yz426f?
Devin B on May 1, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It will work, however an old steel clutch plate with a handle welded to it works better unless you're working on a lot of different bikes. So far the Tusk Tool has worked on most of the bikes I've worked on.
will it work on 2012 kawasaki kx100 ?
A shopper on Jun 16, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes, Fits basically any bike but for some smaller bikes the end of the tool may need to be ground down. Kx100 should not have a problem.
Bought this for my 2009 KX250F and it does not fit in the grooves. Any others?
stefan s on Jul 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This is not a machine specific tool. i personally have used this on a KX250F and i actually ground down the ends so it will fit all bikes ranging from 450 to 65's. thanks for your question i hope it helps.
