Tools: you want them when you need them
This works as intended, holds the clutch boss. Takes some technique. I like tools. Do all my own motor work so tools are a must.

Didn't work for me.
The tool did not fit my clutch basket. If it fits yours it's a good tool.

Trash. Trashed my Inner Hub
Followed the directions, kept the tool just snug enough not to wiggle on the hub. Tried to loosen the hub nut and the tool sprung off and managed to crack the inner hub. I re-situated the tool several times with the same result.
One of the ears that engage the hub was not square when I received it but I didn't see this until I was grinding down the thickness of the non-square ear. It was too fat to fit in the square grooves of my 2000 KTM 200EXC's hub. The properly-bent ear fit fine. The ears cam apart when torque is applied to the nut. I have tried wrapping a tie-down around the ears while using another strap on the handle and around the swingarm to hold the tool from turning. See attached photo.
Bear in mind that to my knowledge this nut has never been removed and is likely torqued to the factory ~98 ft. lbs. I've also tried heat and penetrant. Tomorrow I'm buying an impact driver.
I should've purchased the proper KTM tool for $100 instead of needing a new hub.

Will this work on a KTM? 2013 300 xc specifically. The inner clutch hub has half round grooves NOT square so I'm wondering.
Ray F on May 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Not sure. Used on Honda 400ex worked like a charm. Should if u get tight enough. And try not to mar up grooves
Getting ready to change friction/steel plates on '17 KX 100. The manual says I need a Flywheel & Pulley Holder. Will this Tusk Clutch Holding tool suffice?
Dustin M on Oct 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This is not a machine specific tool, i am not sure it will work on the 17 100. i used this on my brothers kx 85 and it works but we are not sure on the 100. how ever if you are not planning on changing the clutch basket and just replacing the friction and steel plates this tool is not necessary.
Will it work on Suzuki DR650 and DR350?
A shopper on Sep 13, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It should. It is easily adjusted and will grab the out basket. Just be sure to not crush the basket.
Will this work for a ktm 50 sx clutch?
ben b on Dec 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I do not know if this tool will work on a KTM 50. I purchased for a yz250f. I was dissatisfied with this tool. It did not fit the clutch, therefore it does not hold the clutch to loosen or to torque.
will it work on the DRZ400 clutch ?
John F on Jan 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes it will work!
Will this work on a 2002 Yamaha Yz426f?
Devin B on May 1, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It will work, however an old steel clutch plate with a handle welded to it works better unless you're working on a lot of different bikes. So far the Tusk Tool has worked on most of the bikes I've worked on.
will it work on 2012 kawasaki kx100 ?
A shopper on Jun 16, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes, Fits basically any bike but for some smaller bikes the end of the tool may need to be ground down. Kx100 should not have a problem.
Bought this for my 2009 KX250F and it does not fit in the grooves. Any others?
stefan s on Jul 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This is not a machine specific tool. i personally have used this on a KX250F and i actually ground down the ends so it will fit all bikes ranging from 450 to 65's. thanks for your question i hope it helps.
