Light weight compact and comfortable
Picked up chairs for backpacking. Good construction for how light they are. Not made for jumping in and out of as they could bend. If kids/dad start fight over who gets to sit in it would probably break or bend. But for weight savings compact and comfort they are perfect for what they were designed to be used for. Car camping I would pick up something else unless you dont have the room and need something small and light. Adventure biking and backpacking.... there perfect. If you take care of them they should last and they are a lot cheaper than other lightweight chairs available on market. Love the tusk brand

A great comfy camp chair!
This chair is fantastic. It is tall enough to get in and out of easily. It is stable and secure. And the cup holder is a neat feature, too. I am highly satisfied!

Nice chair for the price
It might not be as light as some of the more expensive chairs, but it is fairly light, comfortable, packable and the pride is right.

Great Chair
Im a pretty heavy guy, not fat, butI also have a fake knee and a lot of pins & a titantium rod in my leg That being said it is not easy getting out of similiar chairs. This one can hold me and is high enough of the ground were it doesnt take an act of God to get up. I can rest after a long day on the bike and eat a nice mea laround the camp fire. Rocky Mountain makes high quality products at really god prices. Thanks RMATV..

Not bad for the price
I already had the Joey chair, but wanted a second chair and this was less than half the price of the Joey....so I opted to try the Tusk chair. The fabric material is both stout and well sewn, but the framing needs refining. After using this chair for a few times...lightly...I found one of the lower legs had bent. It’s rated for 260lbs, I weigh 235-240, and didn’t want the larger size that’s rated for 300lbs due to the extra girth of the larger model. The main design difference/weakness is the caps (where the poles slide in) on the main tube are not affixed to the main tube, and this allows the caps to rotate on the main tube. I believe this may have contributed to the bent leg. The caps on the Joey chair are affixed, and don’t allow the caps to rotate. I repaired the bent leg by bending it back (half snapped of course), and riveting a sleeve over the bent/snapped area. I plan to rivet the caps in place soon.

What is deference between med and large chair..... packing size and weight?
Basil C on Mar 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The medium chair max load capacity is 260 lbs. It weighs 2 lbs. Dimensions assembled – 25" x 13.25" x 22" and the Collapsed dimensions – 14" x 3.25" x 3.25.

The large chair max load capacity is 330 lbs. It weighs 2.75 lbs. Dimensions assembled – 33" x 17.75" x 19" and the Collapsed dimensions – 17.5" x 4.75" x 4.75
Can the fabric be embroidered or have logos printed?
Jacqueline P on Dec 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The gray fabric is a mesh, so that might be difficult, but the black fabric is very durable, like a nice sport duffel bag. So, the logos would have to be on the sides and bottom. I have to say how much I like the chair, though. I bought it to take on my 2017 1290 Super Adventure R. I have the Giant Loop Siskyou Panniers, and the chair/case fits in either side, it is so small and light. When you set it up, it takes about 30 -60 seconds and is really comfortable. I am 6' 1" and 200 lbs. I wouldn't want to flop down in it, but I have no worries of it ever getting damaged under my normal use. The seat pan is about 2" narrower than I'd prefer, but his is a compact chair for motorcycle travel (my use), and it is a 100% worthwhile item to pack. Better than sitting on a hard pannier or the ground, one of my favorite adventure touring items and I will travel with it always. Hope this helps!
Besides price, could you highlight differences between this and the Joey chair? They look very similar.
Richard B on Nov 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Pretty much the same chair, I have had one for past year and has held up OK so far, the one I purchased had a high back on it that is different from the Joey chair. I recommend the high back one as it has an upper bar that aids in supporting the weight on the rear posts. ( I have had a different one where the poles pushed through the fabric )
Does the large fit inside the Tusk Panniers?
A shopper on Aug 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the large pannier is 18 inches wide and this chair is 17.5 inches wide collapsed.
