Good quality product!
Bought to do a 2014 KX65 this will not pull crank through the right side. Some of the older 65’s have a “C” clip that holds gears on and it may work with the optional adaptor than can be bought separate. Had to freeze crank to get in right side... Worked awesome on the other side to pull cases back together! Recommend this product!

Did the job!
I am restoring a 1978 Yamaha DT400 and needed to split the cases to perform a full inspection on the engine as this bike had been stored in a garage for the last 21 years. Split the cases like a champ and I just installed the crank into the left case. makes the job easy.

Anyone try this and the installer on 1970s era Huskys?

Tusk Crank Puller/Installer Tool
Tusk Crank Puller/Installer Tool
Tusk Crankcase Splitter
Tusk Crankcase Splitter
BEST ANSWER: Hey John. I have not worked on those engines in particular but I have used these tools on many others. Before I had the splitter tool it was necessary to make a custom pulling plate for each different set of engine cases because the tapped holes for the pull rods are often not 180 degrees across from each other and the push pin must be straight on to the end of the crankshaft. Using this tool it is easy to centre the pin and then move the slotted arms to line up with two or three tapped holes in the engine case. Remember to make the puller level with the cases so that you pull evenly an the anchor rods. The crank puller/installer is easy to use. It slips over the end of the crankshaft and the threaded/tapped end is used to draw the crank toward the case. Hope this helps, Jay.
What tool would I need to install the left/right oil seals on the crank for a 03 cr250?
Michael B on Jul 25, 2018
BEST ANSWER: We have used sockets (the same diameter of the seal or a little smaller, deep well if possible) and a dead blow hammer. Lightly tap into place.

BEST ANSWER: I could not tell you for sure. The trick to pulling the crank case is to pull it apart evenly and equally. Not knowing the width I'm just not sure. These tools will do many different crankcase. Sorry I could not help on that one. Best advise would be to call the cat dealer, or measure the distance between the bolts send them to me and I can measure the three spreader legs to see if this will work. It needs to have three points to pull equal.

Will this tool work with little KTM 50 case?
Dan M on Aug 5, 2017

It says won't work for KTM 125/144/150. I have a KTM 105 sx. Will it work for that engine?
Scott I on Apr 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: That I am not sure of. I have a YZ 250 and it worked great for my bike. Both my older brothers have KTMs but theirs are 300's and they haven't had to tear them apart yet. You might want to contact Tusk to get a better idea if it will work or not.
I have a 2006 Suzuki rmz 250 and I have to put my casing back together . I was wondering if I need that c-clip adapter? I have a kawasaki motor in that bike is the reason for the question
Thanks
Gary J on Nov 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: You don't need the c-clip kits. I looked up your bike and it shows a nut holding on the water pump gear on the right side which means you don't need the kit. If there are threads on the right side of the crank a c-clip kits isn't needed. Certain older KX two stroke need the kit. We have a newer kx 85/100 and it doesn't need the kits.
Does the crank puller come with the medal rods?

I have a 1991 Kawasaki kx80 will the tusk installer tool work on the right side of my crankshaft?
Raymond G on Nov 17, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I’ve used this tool to work on a few kx65’s and kx100’s, in my experience this tusk crank puller/installer does not attach to the right hand side of the crankshaft, even when trying to use the available kx adaptor kit. I would recommend using the crank case splitter to push the crank from the flywheel side first, then move the crankcase splitter to the right hand side and push the crank out of the other case half. When installing the crank back onto the case halves, install seals first, then crank bearings, the freeze your crank for a few days, pre heat oven to 250 and put case halves in the oven for about 20 mins. Pull them out and quickly set the crank into the right case first, then lower the left case half on top of the crank. At this point you can use the tusk crank puller/installer to pull the crank into the left case until seated. Then install the 4 bolts that go behind the flywheel to pull the motor together, this is only my experience but it has worked for me. Good luck.
Quick question, will this fit my 2017 KTM 500 EXC f? Have a blessed day.

will this work for a 2005 yz450f?
spencer g on Feb 10, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes, I’m fairly certain. You can ask your YAMAHA dealer the threads ( # & pitch ) on each end of the crank and then reference the threads available with the tool. Again, I’m fairly certain though.
Does this tool include the collet that screws into the end of the tool and attaches to the crank using the adapters? Not shown in the picture.
