The Tusk High Pressure Radiator Cap with Temperature Gauge makes it easy to keep an eye on your machine’s temperature. The radiator caps are designed with a higher pressure rating than OEM caps in order to raise your coolants boiling point. This reduces boiling over and losing coolant. Equipped on top of the cap is a temperature gauge so you can read how hot or cold your machine is running. Offered in a 1.8kg/cm2 (25.6psi) for most motorcycles, ATV’s, and UTV’s and a 2.0kg/cm2 (28.5psi) for most European machines. Think Tusk when in need of new parts and accessories for your motorcycle, ATV, and UTV.
    • High pressure radiator cap with a temperature gauge.
    • Built with a higher pressure rating than the OEM cap to raise the boiling point of your machine – this reduces boil-overs.
    • Gauge on top identifies how hot or cold a machine is running.
    • Offered in a 1.8kg/cm2 (25.6psi) and 2.0kg/cm2 (28.5psi) cap.

Good idea, not durable at all
So i turned several of my friends on to these and now they are mad at me because all of theirs failed as well as 5+ i have had replaced. It is my opinion that the vibration of bikes has a huge role in this. My KTM 4 strokes can get 10-20 hours out of them. Older 2 strokes won't last 1-2 rides. New KTM/Husky 2 strokes that do not vibrate at all will last me about 25 hours. They do not leak, the temp gauge just fails.

    Gets lots of compliments
This gets lots of compliments for some reason, people think it's cool. I got it to monitor the relative strain on the engine. When it gets to the red, only when really pushing it on steep hills, I give the bike a rest.

Nice quality cap and gauge. Good to see the temperature and may help save the engine
Nice to see the coolant temperature. I haven’t boiled over the new bike since putting on the cap. May have to do with 1.8 bar over 1.1 for factory.

it wont pop off as fast plus if you have ever overheated your bike it would be nice to at least know the temp that the radiator fluid goes spilling out so you can figure when your gonna get there.... also cool to check bikes temp when your out there romping or at idle

I recently purchased this cap. I installed it on my 2017 crf 450rx and my bike started dumping coolant out I figured due to the higher pressure but when I let it cool and checked my radiator coolant their was none at the top? Is this normal?
    Jesse J on Nov 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Considering this cap is new, make sure you get it tight. Completely seated. I removed my old one a time or two just to double check coolant level and it was a breeze to install compared to this new one. If it's not completely seated, it can't seal off the radiator and can leak.
Will the 2.0 work on the 2008 KTM 250XCF? On here it says a 2.0 would work, but I have a 1.8 on right now and OEM says 20.3psi. I'm extremely confused.
    Ryan L on Jul 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You shouldnt have any issues running a 2.0 on your machine.
I recently bought the Tusk High pressure radiator cap for my New Yamaha YZ250F 4 stroke. It only has .6 hrs. on it. It imedetly started dumping fluid out the overflow hose. Does this item have a defect? I put the stock one back on it and it was perfectly fine. I then thought I would try it again. It done the same thing. Can I send it back. It must be a defected part. Please advise....
    Thank you,

I put this on my 2015 YZ450F and it started to piss coolant out of the overflow, it was a pretty steady flow coming out and it got up in the yellow temp about after 8 minutes of idling. I then waited for the bike to cool down, filled up the coolant again and put my stock cap on and had it idle for about another 8 minutes with no issues. Anybody know what the problem might be? I put the same cap on my buddy’s 2015 CRF450 and it had no issues.
    A shopper on Feb 24, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Man I had the same issue. It works great on my 2012 Ktm 300 XC. Put it on my 2016 Husky FE350 and started spilling coolant just like you described. Moved it back to the KTM and it works fine. Put the OEM cap back on the Husky and have no issues. So I’m at a loss on why it works on some radiators. Even though they are practically the same radiators on the two bikes.
Will this work on my SUV? I don't ride that much and radiator cap is hidden but wouldn't mind one in my SUV.
    Bernard Q on Apr 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This cap is only designed to work with off-road applications.
I recently bought this temperature gauge. Should my gauge be reading 100 degrees even though my bike has not been started or rode today?
    Zach A on Jun 30, 2018
BEST ANSWER: is that 100C or 100F? Mine seems pretty spot on. I have given one to a friend that has it on his 450FX with fan and the sensor on that matches his fan sensor pretty well. - what is the ambient temp? Remember this has a temp gurage of boiling water, not atni-freeze under pressure. I would contact RM and tlak to them, you might of got a bad unit or one that the needle is not aligned. But if it is 90 degrees and it read 100... or is it 60 and read 100?
I recently purchased one of the Tusk Temp Gauge Radiator Caps for my 2016 Husqvarna FE501. I thought I was getting a 1.8 Bar cap (same as OEM) but received a 2.0 Bar Cap. Is this safe to use or should I be getting it exchanged for the correct pressure rating? New cap is unopened.
    Bjorn L on Feb 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It's very common to get a higher pressure rating on radiator caps to increase the pressure release. I haven't run into a bike where the extra pressure has ever been a problem. If you overheat your bike (coolant vapor/white smoke pouring out of overflow tube) this will help contain it better. I've gone from 1.1 stock to 1.8 so a 0.2 increase is well within reason.
I have Fluidyne FPS radiators on my bike, will this cap fit?
    RYAN R on Mar 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Not to sure, but my cap failed to read temperature after about 2 weeks of riding. The needle just spins freely now.
Hello, I own a 08 Honda Crf150RB which is relatively new to me and I just got into dirt bikes. My cap is a 1.1 and I’m wondering if it’s healthy to jump to a 1.8? Thanks
    Chase B on Mar 9, 2019
    BEST ANSWER: Hey Chase,
I've got an orange label ride & not sure what the specs on the Honda's allow, but I do run the 1.8 TUSK and I've enjoyed knowing when I'm beginning to overheat it in the slow and tough stuff...and recommend it.

Since each dirt bike has different levels of operating temperatures, is the cap altered for each type of bike in terms of where the green/yellow/red limits are?
    Kyle M on May 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Its all a general chart so that its close enough for all bikes as far as the green, yellow and red are. But there is a temperature listing in degrees (numbers) listed above the colors so if you know what your bikes running temperature is, you can look at the numbers on the gauge.
