The Tusk Master Link Clip Pliers make the difficult task of installing and removing clip-type master links a simple and fast task. Specially designed tips on the pliers easily grip the master link pin while pushing the clip on effortlessly. This tool is a must for any motorcycle or ATV user.
Specially designed pliers that make the installation and removal of clip-type master links a breeze.
One side of the plier tip is shorter and grooved to grab the chain pin while the other tip pushes the clip on effortlessly.
Durable hardened steel construction with rubber coated ergonomic handles.
This is a solid and useful tool. I'd personally like to see a vice grip version which would make them much more useful in a tool roll though. Still, easy to use, makes removal and installation of master links simple and fast.
The pliers were stiff. I had to put them up and go with the regular needle noses when replacing my chain. They were not effective for me. TUSK makes amazing products and I will continue to buy TUSK, just don't buy these
Well, have only used this tool once, so the durability rating is for an "expected" usage period, as it is certainly robust. What I CAN say is, what a pleasure it is to have the proper tool for the job, makes chain removal a non-starter. Just click-click and done..
They do the job but are a little cumbersome. Not the best quality materials and the jaws are really tight. I sprayed some penetrating oil in them and worked them for a bit but still pretty stiff which makes them awkward to use for delicate work with the clip.
However they are still better than using regular needle nose or screwdriver and was able to remove the clip without damage so worth it for the money
These get the job done, but with a lot of slipping. Seems like they would benefit from the long side being a bit shorter so it would grab the master link clip more square rather than angled off a bit. Could also use a milled face on the longer side to bite the clip better...the flat face tends to slip. That said, they do work, and I would but then again.
I have worked on motorcycles, minibikes, go carts and industrial equipment and these chain pliers are great. For the price I was skepticalof the quality, they are quite nice and work flawlessly and will buy another pair upon my next order from Rocky Mountain!
I have used a small screwdriver and Visegrips for years to remove and replace masterlink clips, often bending the clip in the process. These pliers make a difficult job easy without damaging the clip. Kudos!
These are basically cheap type modified pliers. If you can make one then do it. They feel cheap and when I first tried to open it, the handles and jaws seem to stick. But I'm guessing over time they will loosen up. Great value
This tool will make your life so much easier. If you a meticulous about maintenance, chain removal/installation is common practice. This makes that process simple. I keep one at home and another in my track toolbox for trackside repairs. Keep the flatheads and traditional pliers away from the master-link! This tool seats the master link with 1 hand!
