Universal kit work for ebike
Universal kit with battery pack works well for my Sur ron light bee. Tuck battery beneath seat on side hides well great wire management. Just didn't need hydrolic brake switch but instead brake switch for leverb, one for each brake handle

The light kit fit well and was easy to install I would recommend this product for a retro fit to a bike with out lighting.

Lite kit review
Got this kit for my kdx 220. It's simple, a little time consuming because I used a different rear fender but it's a cool unit

Everything fit well looks good can’t wait to get it on the road
Trying to street legal a wr250f using the tusk lighting kit make sur you think about what your doing with the wire harness . Used more zip ties than the kit provided , hiding all the wires behind the head light is tricky. Everything was marked very well not a mechanic but watch the video on line it walks you right through it finished product look great . Now the hard part all the paper work with the state.

It definitely works. & Is pretty simple to install
It works well so far. and wasnt much of a problem to install. and I imagine would work for just about ANY bike and would be a simple way to make it street legal but at quite a price.

I do feel this kit is way over priced. Really all you get out of it is; Wiring harness, Blinkers, Tail light, & Control switch. All of which feel kind of cheap to me. The blinkers are pretty good, But the tail light housing is open at the bottom, instead of the wires, coming directly, from the tail light and blinkers being tucked up, and allows water and dirt from your back wheel to cake it all up all the time.
The control switch is pretty light and cheap and doesnt grab the handle bars very well and honestly could have included more buttons, such as having the ON/OFF switch on it, as well, instead of having to make room for both. I have to have the control switch, ON/OFF switch, a kill switch, and starter switch taking up a lot of space and is kind of cluttered on my handle bars. & The mirror is pretty useless.

By the time you finish installing everything you say to yourself "That's it? I paid $200 and that's all I put on the bike, really?" and again all the "items" feel fairly cheap and light. So for what you get I feel that closer to a $100 value would have been fair not worth near $200. Especially not even including a head light, or even 2 mirrors, even though they aren't very good, at least you could say you have both.

Good stuff
Don't let the pic intimidate you. Super easy install. And you can literally install on any bike, even an old cr500. The battery powers everything except a headlight. That's on you. Overall, the parts a quality, easy to install, and easy to replace. No reason to spend 2.5 times that on other kits.

Some aspects of the kit is very cheaply made but there is not many options out there for my bike anyways. So i am kinda stuck. It works it does what is needed just don't expect top notch quality and you will be happy.

Can the bike's original stator be wired to charge the supplied Tusk battery pack?
mark d on Aug 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I'm sure with enough time and patience you could get it to work, but we've never done that here so I can't confirm.
I own a 2013 Husqvarna TXC310. What kit will best fit my bike? Note that I am open to modification.
A shopper on Apr 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I installed on a ktm 500 and very straight forward universal setup. The rear light bolts through fender.
The front lights bolt onto number plate.
Does it include a plate light?
A shopper on Jun 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Plate light is built into the tail light. Shines directly down onto the plate.
will this fit / work with a 2017 TTR 125?

BEST ANSWER: With the tusk battery pack, you could install this kit on just about any bike. i am 99% certain this would fit on you 2017 ttr. This kit fit on my 2015 yz250fx flawlessly. if your TTR has electric start, with a battery, you will not need the tusk battery pack.
Does the on/off switch replace the kill switch?
A shopper on Mar 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: As supplied "plug & play" it only controls the battery supplied accessories, but is easily wired in to replace the factory "Kill Switch"
can i use it on a LEM-motors pitbike/dirtbike?
Akos T on Apr 15, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I put this on a klx 400, I think it was all universal nothing was bike specific. My bike has a battery tho, not sure about the LEM
Can I do this on a 2 stroke?
A shopper on Apr 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It can be used in any application, being it is battery operated it could go on a bicycle. But installing lights won't make your bike road legal in many states, check your local laws, I can't register my XR 600 in the province Ont even with the kit installed
Two questions. 1) Will this work with the stock rear tail light to turn it into a brake light? 2) Does this have the ability to create high & low beam effect with the stock front headlight?
James R on Apr 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: For both questions..... If your bike comes with a dual filament bulb in the headlight and tail light, it will work. You will probably have to splice in somewhere to get it to work with the stock rear tail light.

Having said that, I would recommend using the LED tail light in the kit, as it uses minimal wattage.
does it come with a head light?
Alex s on Jul 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No headlight is included, The lighting kit only comes with tail light, turn signals, horn , switches and wiring harness.
Is this kit completely battery operated?
A shopper on Apr 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Not certain. I would imagine it would run off of the stator if you didn’t have a battery. I have a KTM 400 EXC and it runs off my battery while the stator charges the battery. Hope that helps. I thought it was a pretty good kit. Easy install with only some minor wiring changes on my headlight connection.
I have a blue plated 2011 Yamaha yz450f, I need a lighting kit that has the rechargeable battery what kit do I buy? There isn’t a option for my bike
Teddy B on Apr 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I’m not sure. The kit I purchased attached to the battery that was charged with the bikes alternator. The kit did not include a head light because the bike already had one. The kits lights turn signal and brake light were LED so I don’t think the battery draw was very much.
What is the difference between kits? Does a Honda come with different parts than a Husqvarna? Or are all parts the same between kits?
Spencer R on Apr 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: From what I have found and read this is a pretty universal kit. There might be minor differences in wire length or fit between bikes. I have a 06 KX450F and ordered the closest kit i could which is for a street legal Kawi KLR. The only thing that would not work on my bike due to clearance issues with the frame was the foot operation of the brake light. I simply put it on the front brake since I always use front brake unless on gravel or ice. Again this kit is pretty universal as far as I know... hope this helps!
What other parts would I need to make this kit work ( along with installing a headlight) for my 2005 KX 250 F?
mitchell m on Jan 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The kit works great for all tail light, brake light, TS, horn but the KX 250F does not have a headlight. Does the KX250F have electric start? If so then you have a battery so you can get an aftermarket headlight. With a battery you don't need the nicad battery pack
Am I right in saying the only custom piece in this kit is the brake light switch?
Jacob M on May 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I am sure you are correct, as it is essentially a group of individually sourced parts put into a kit. But, it works well. I really enjoy the ability to charge the battery, as opposed to connecting to the stator
I have a 2014 crf 1125 and was wondering in the stock stator creates enough power to power the enduro lighting kit and a headlight?

Polisport MMX Headlight
Polisport MMX Headlight
BEST ANSWER: From what I recall, your bike never came with lights therefore, the stator is limited in power. Check the specs in your workshop manual. You will need more power (in watts) than the combine power requirement of the headlight and tail light. I installed the lighting kit on my 2005 Yamaha YZ250F and there was not enough power to drive the tail and headlight properly at low RPMs. I would recommend that you go with a LED headlight; those are low power (12 watts). My guess is that your bike generates about 25 watts of power, most likely at about 3000 rpm. You will also need a voltage regulator in line, otherwise you will damage/blow bulbs. Good luck..
Does the included battery needs a charger? Does it come with one? Also, how long can the battery go without being charged before their is a noticeable decline in illumination?
Steven H on Apr 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes there's a small battery pack that's rechargeable similar to home cordless phone battery. It come with a small charger. It lasted like 24hrs. The led lights use very little power. I googled it, and I rewired my stator to recharge the battery when running on 01ktm 125sx. Works great. I also upgraded headlight bulbs to led..much brighter and less battery draw. I also bought an extra brake pressure switch for the front master cylinder that was easy to do, so now either brake turns on the rear brake light. Hope this helps.
Do you have to convert your stator to dc only for this product?
A shopper on Apr 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The headlight runs on AC. The rest of the system runs off the battery in the bike. My 03 ktm 450 exc already has a factory battery for the electric starter. The problem is there is no blue high beam ON indicator. This is a huge PITA because now you need to find a tiny blue light that can handle the AC voltage and wire that in. Law here requires a blue high beam indicator. Maybe the other kits that cost 4x the price have the blue indicator! ?!?!?
so on a 06 crf450 all I need to install is the stator and battery and its good?
A shopper on Apr 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No need to install a stator. The system is LED and draws very little power. The wiring ties into your bike at the headlight and battery only. Great product.
Do the lights say DOT on them?
brandon r on Feb 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I sold the bike I put this on. I don't think they said DOT but I don't believe the turn signals or tail light have to say DOT. Just the headlight. Had no problems registering it with DMV with this kit installed.
will this kit fit a 2002 ktm sx 125 and can a headlight be fitting to wiring loom ?
A shopper on Jan 20, 2017

I have a 2004 cr125 that I'm trying to make street legal in Az. Could I mount a motorcycle battery in the air box or somewhere else on the bike and use it as a power source for this kit plus a head light?
joshua b on Oct 31, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I don't see why not. I believe they make a rechargeable battery for this kit which is probably smaller than a motorcycle battery.
Could I buy a drum brake light switch and plug that into the wiring harness of the lighting kit to make it work?
Grant C on Oct 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: yes, a universal switch like this https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/1195/27231/K-%26-S-Universal-Brake-Light-Switch?term=brake+light+switch Will work. Connects to the brake pedal so it doesn't matter is drum or disk.
Where can I get a front brake switch that will fit this light kit for a 2004 KTM EXC 250?
Kyle K on Sep 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Everyone I know including myself use a rear brake switch on the the front brake. Its the same thread as the rear. You might have to move your break leaver up or down to make it fit correct but it works just fine.

I’m work on making my 2017 TTR 230 street legal to do some trail riding. to get from one trail to other sometimes it’s requied to be street legal. I already have my headlightnd mirror. All I need is the horn, turn signals and brake light. I plan on using the rechargeable battery. Speedometer is different project to come. Can I used this even if my bike isn’t listed?
Oscar C on Feb 7, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the piece will work even if you don't have the stator output to drive the kit with the rechargeable battery. Kit works well.
hey I've got a 2013 Husqvarna TE300 would this kit work with the bike?
Shawn w on Aug 18, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes this kit will basically work with any bike. Some bikes take a little more customization than others, as it is a generic kit. I have installed several of these on different type of bikes and never had one I couldn't adapt.
Good quality kit
How do I attach my headlights to the harness to power the lights?
Quintan s on Jul 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: If your bike already has a headlight factory you don't have to connect it. If your bike did not come with a headlight you will just need to tap into the power and ground of the system. This small battery wont last long powering a headlight and tail light tho. Really would need more details on the bike you have to know what is needed and more details on what you are planning to do.
I have a 2012 ktm 350 sxf and I'm trying to make it street legal. It doesn't come with a headlight from the factory but I do have a battery and it is elec start. My question is if the kit will work with a trail tech x2 headlight and if my bikes power supply is good enough to run the headlight and the kit? Thanks.
ethan w on Jun 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I don't know for sure, but in my case I have a CRF250X and I asked Trailtech the same question, I too have an X2, and was told that it would not be sufficient as they stock winding on my bike was meant to power a 35w bulb. I ended up getting their flywheel/stator kit to go along with the Tusk kit. I have yet to install it though.
I have a 2008 Ktm 450 Xc-f will I need to up grade the stator for this kit and using a trail tech x2 70w head light?
david m on May 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The kit doesn't change the stator or provide a headlight, just all of the accessories. 2x70w is a lot of power, I suggest a call to Ricky Stator, they would know the capacity of your stator..
Will I need a stator rewind if I install this kit on an '04 crf230f?
A shopper on Apr 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It depends on the draw placed in the stator (the kit itself doesn’t pull that much). I have a ttr230 with this kit and a polisport mmx headlight. I did have to have my stator wound for the best performance. To be on the safe side I would. You could also just run the kit off a battery pack (I used the lithium one on another bike) to minimize stress on the bikes battery.

BEST ANSWER: You need to have front and rear light as this will have the bike equipped with a charging system. If you are wanting for a bike that is full on dirt bike you need to get another kit that includes front and rear light and a battery system. They come with a battery that you charge after riding. Hope this helps
