This is a great tool that Tusk now makes even more affordable than other manufacturers ... thank you Tusk ... it works ... and if you don't know what the bead opposite your tire iron is important, you'd best be reading about THAT right now instead!
Tusk is doing the tools right! Lightweight heavy duty gear that’s easy to pack. You don’t understand what they are doing until your changing a tire over a stump in the middle of who knows where. Paired with the irons that won’t bend your fender, the Tusk line is a must have for the pro and the novice like me. Trust goes a long way with tools, you can find it here.
It works but be careful. If placed on the wrong spoke or if the spoke nipple is on an off angle it may be difficult to remove this. That's what happened to me. Fortunately after a little wiggling and turning I was able to get if off the rim.
Pretty happy with the tusk tire bead tool. Helped hold the tire down as I spoon the rest of the way. I’ve always used my knees to hold on side of the tire down, with this I can move the tire around to get a better position with the spoons.
I've been changing dirt bike tires for many years and have no problem doing it now. I remember the days when I hated changing tires. I bought this just to try it out but found I don't really need it. If you struggle changing tires this should really help you until you figure out what you're doing wrong.
Came in bent and misshapen. A little tweaking needed. Probably should have gotten the motion pro. It's not quite tough enough. That being said. I've changed over 14 tires with it and occasionally I have to bend it back into shape.
There's no reason to spend the extra bling money on the blue anodized billet version of this tool. This works better than the Motion Pro blue billet version in my opinion. I would get two or three of these for stubborn tires. I have one now, but will get two on my next order that needs to bulk up for free shipping.
