It works for adjusting the rear shock. On my YZ250f it worked better than on our Crf150RB. There isn’t much space on this shock and the lock nut is tight. I tried unsuccessfully for a few minutes. I stopped when I saw it was deforming the lock nut (same as a screwdriver would. I’m sure it will work better if I remove the subframe but I didn’t want to have to.
On my KX250F, I can easily loosen the lock ring with a punch or screwdriver & a mallet. But tightening back up that lock ring is a major pain! Its difficult because you need to squeeze a punch between the shock reservoir and airbox. This tool works perfect to fit in that tight area and the slanted head really helps to secure the driver into the teeth of the shock's lock ring.
Makes preload and sag adjusting a breeze. Way better than using a spanner wrench, screw driver or punch. Well made heavy duty tool. The angled tip is perfect for a secure fit against the notches. I recommend and use a rubber mallet instead of a hammer. Highly recommend this tool!!
