Disappointing
I thought this would be a much better value. Turns out, it's nothing more than a square made out of the same material the air filter to my furnace is made of. I could have bought a ton more for the money. There was no adhesive on it, so I used double face Gorilla tape...overall, not a good buy

Simple yet genius product. It’s foam cut it put it between skid plate n motor, no more mud packed up in there. Cost little installs in seconds makes ur clean up after riding that much easier. Also keeps motor from running warm due to Lack of air flow. Recommend this product

Its squishy
Well its foam, what can I say. It works to expectation, a bit of a challenge to install, primarily due to skidplate short bolts, so I ended up sliding it in from the side after installing skid plate. I also have some heat rated spray foam for the future if needed.

Keep the mud out!
After racing a local mud race I realized this is a must have for all mud conditions! The mud adds so much weight you feel like you have someone on the bike with you! Stuff this foam wherever you can and it will help a bunch!

Little pricey, should come with double sided tape for installation
Easy to trim, I'd love to see some templates you could print out for your specific application. Al Assad o, some double sided sticky tape would be useful to keep it in place during installation. Seems to have quieted the add pound coming from the left side of the engine.
I timed a little too much. Hopefully keeps the rocks out.

It actually works to reduce sound.
The fit wasn't all that perfect with my flatland racing skid plate but it does reduce engine noise. Hopefully it'll keep some dirt out too.

Haven’t used this yet. Installed a SW-Motech skid plate on my DR650 and was getting a lot of unwanted noise threw back up to me. I may end up using this eventually.

2012 kx450f what size foam for this bike with the cycra full armor skid plate?
Carl C on Jul 9, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It is up to you on how much material you would like and how you would like to use it. We sell 2 options on this Foam kit for that 2012 KX450F. The first options is 3/4" thick material and is 11" x 12". The second option for the is 2" thick material and is 8"x 10".
Just bought a 2018 XT250 . . . would like an explanation as to why there are 2 thicknesses of foam offered. Do I need to get both to cover different sections of the plate in different thickness or is it just a preference of thin vs. thicker and choose 1 to go with?
Cletus F on Feb 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: My experiance is to place it between the frame rails and squash it up to the engine case when placing your bash plate as I tried to squash it under the frame at first but didnt seem to bed to well to get the bolts/screws started . Well for my installation anyway. Not say this is how to place for other cycles, all bikes are different so if you can afford it buy both sizes as whats left can come in handy for other applications. The product works well.
I'm on the fence between buying an aluminum or composite skid plate. Plastic is regarded as quieter. I'm not sure if coposite has the same benefit. Would this foam help reduce the noise associated with aluminum plates by dampening the vibration?
Gregory E on Dec 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Adding foam like this helps reduce the engine noise being reflected back to the rider by quite a bit. When I first put an aluminum skid plate on my WR450F I stopped and checked out my engine because it was making so much more noise than normal that I thought something was wrong. It turns out that it was just the motor noise being reflected back to me. Now, with foam in there it is just as quiet as with a plastic skid plate, but this one won't disintegrate after hitting things like the stock one did.
will the foam melt at all if it gets too hot?
Jacob V on Sep 30, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I’ve only used it to fill the space between the engine and the skid plate. My KTM has gotten pretty hot and not had any issue with the foam melting.
