This is an awesome rotor for the price!!
I bought this rotor because I updated the brakes from my 2003 yz250 to the 2017 yz450f front brakes which use the 270mm rotor. This was a HUGE improvement to my previous brakes!! I took the bike on a trip to South Carolina shortly after getting this and all I can say is that I love it!! I hardly used my rear brakes because the front brakes were so good!! I will certainly buy this again!!

was this a demo saw blade in it's past life?
I've bent countless rotors and it's nearly impossible to bend them back to shape. so instead you're stuck with a wheel that might make 1 or 2 revolutions on a free spin and then comes to a screeching stop. this rotor is way more heavy duty than stock and is also reinforced where it needs to be. don't be intimidated when you first pick it up..

Always buy these over OEM
I've been buying these for 10+ years. They're a great deal. We ride all year, especially in the winter, and they hold up great.... usually around half the price over most brands and OEM

Does this rotor have a mounting hole for the speedo/odo magnet?
VITALY O on Oct 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I ordered this rotor but what I got looks completely different then the picture that's shown. Yes mine came with the speed/odo holes. There are 2 holes in the rotor for a sensor and I'm thinking there each placed for fitting different make bikes. Have not installed it yet, my bike is a KTM 350 EXC-F 2014.
Does this front rotor have a hole for the magnet for a speedo?
Wes N on Oct 3, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes it has the hole, but doesn't come with a magnet if you're using a two wheel sets.
Has anyone used this on a 230?, I can't get pads in with it. its too thick it seems. The oem's min thickness is 2.5 this is 3.5..so it tells me it is thicker then stock.

Can anyone confirm if they were able to use this in a 230F
Casey L on Sep 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: a lot of times when the brake rotors wear down they keep on bleeding the brakes and add fluid. that causes the caliper to not open all the way making it hard to get the rotor in. i would take the resivore cap off and then push the pistons open and let the fluid bleed out.
Are they directional left to right?
Dylan B on Feb 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Was over a year ago that I installed, If I remember right it didn't make any difference, I will say that the disc worked great. I installed on a 2016 500XCW front
Is it better to use sintered or carbon pad for the intermediate dirt rider with these rotors?
Jason S on Nov 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It depends where you ride. Sintered pads are good for muddy wet conditions and carbon pads are good for clean dry conditions. Carbon wears out fast in mud & sand from my personal experience. Sintered pads make noise & grind down rotors in clean dry conditions, again only in my personal experience.
Is this a floating rotor? The picture does not show it being a floating rotor.
PETE W on May 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No it is not a floating rotor
does it come with the screws?
karl k on Apr 13, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Negative. Hardware is most often sold separately on most brands including Tusks rotors. The rotors are amazing though they are worth every dime. They are nice and sturdy, but are cut just like top name brands. Absolutely recommend these!
Does this fit the tusk rims?
A shopper on Apr 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: If the rims are made to your bikes factory specs the rotor should fit perfectly. Make sure to buy the one for your bike by entering your bike information into the Rocky Mountain search bar. Also, it is wise to make sure there are the same amount of bolt holes as the hub of your new wheels.
Can I use my stock 2007 caliper with this rotor?
Chris S on May 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: If your machine is listed to fit it will work with the OEM components.
How much heavier is this rotor compared to a Yamaha OEM front 270 mm rotor for a 2016 YZ250F? (Or how much does this rotor weigh?)
MAX A L on Mar 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The rotor is most likely heavier. This is because it is a general rotor, but a great one. A YZ-F would have more of a race set up, even at stock, making it a lighter rotor than the Tusk one.
Will this replace my floating front rotor on my Yamaha 09 yz450f?
DAN H on Jul 13, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes, Tusk is very good at replacing OEM parts you can trust that it is going to work as good as the original
Is this 270mm?
A shopper on Jan 1, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes stock size for 2016 on kx450.
i need one for a 17 yz250f.. is the a 270 rotor?
andy c on Oct 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I sure hope so....just ordered one for my 2017 yz250x.
Is this rotor over sized?
Jamie H on Aug 11, 2019
BEST ANSWER: No, this is not an over sized rotor.
Are they sold separate for atvs?
A shopper on May 27, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The price is for one brake rotor if that is what you are asking.
It says it will fit on my 400ex but mine bolts on with 4 bolts the picture shows 3 is that just the picture?
A shopper on May 26, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The picture is a generic. You will get one that will fit the machine you enter in the drop down boxes.
Will it fit a 2014 KLR new edition?
Uku M on Aug 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: To see if this part will fit your machine please enter the make, model, and year into our "Choose a vehicle" drop down boxes found above the product image. If your machine is not listed, we may not carry the right item for your application. If you have a 2019 year model but don't see your machine as an option, please contact a tech via Live Chat or call us at 1-800-336-5437 for assistance.
Is the picture of this item generic? My current disk has 8 holes, the ones pictured all have four. If it's just a standard picture I get it, but when it shows up under a search for my specific bike and looks different I'm cautious.
A shopper on Oct 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This picture is generic and doesn't necessarily represent the actual product you will receive. If your machine is listed in the drop down menu, it will fit.
i need a magnet for this rotor, which part # or magnet works and installs with this Rotor? 16 TE 300
Robert M on Jun 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The OEM magnet for that bike will fit just fine in that rotor. Thank you for the question.
Is this rotor a 270mm for the newer Yamahas?
COLIN K on Feb 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It matches the stock specs for the model selected.
I am looking at the image and the bolt holes do not look like they will match up with my 2002 DRZ400E and just wanted to guarantee this will fit the stock hub?
Thomas M on Oct 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: As long as you put in the correct machine you will get the correct rotor for it. The imagine is just a generic picture.
My 06 YZ450F has six bolt holes, the picture shows four. Is that the real photo, or a "stock" photo?
Eric W on Sep 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The photo is generic. The shape and design of the rotor is the same, but the bolt pattern changes for different machines.
