    Great tool
I couldn't have gotten the job done without this race press. Fairly easy to use, though I had a little frustration keeping things level and straight - I expect that would be the same for any kit, though.

Seems to be a very durable product, well made.

Could be good if it were redesigned.
I’ve worked in bike shops for 8 years and I’ve dealt primarily with the Park Tool headset press. I decided to get this one for my home shop. Long story short it didn’t work. I tried to press the races into my YZ125 and it started seating them crooked. I ended up having to pull the crooked races back out and drive them in with a hammer and bearing setting tool.
As I see it, there are some major flaws with the design:
-there’s nothing to keep the main axle centered in the head tube.
-the main axle is a half moon shape so you can’t get a wrench on it to stop the whole tool from spinning.
-there’s no bearing between the press and the handles, so the tool binds up and becomes impossible to turn.
-why are three of the adaptors the same size????

    Stem bearing race press
This unit worked great, been using a hammer and punch before and it is so hard not to nick the aluminum surface, I would recommend this and the proper remover.

    Not that great
It did not work that good. The handles are too wide so I had to use multiple pieces to keep the handles from striking the frame. When turning the handles the pieces would turn and get out of position constantly. The head is supposed to turn but it doesn't when pressure is applied. Really difficult to use this product.

Tuck steering stem bearing race press
A well built and thought out tool from tusk at an affordable price. I found it not quite as easy to use as the video shows, hence the four stars,as it had a tendancy to pull the bearing in crooked, no matter what I tried. Operator error maybe?

    Should have bought it first!
Just couldn't get the lower bearing race to drive in straight on my DR, so I stopped and bought this press before doing damage. It took five minutes to do my whole steering thanks to this tool!

Know the difference between the bearing installer and the press?
    Keith D on Apr 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: To remove the steering race i bought the Park tool steering race remover. This tool was very easy to tap the old race out. I then used the Tusk steering stem bearing press to install and press in the new bearing race. You get different size collets to fit different race sizes for different manufactures. Both of these tools were amazing and easy to use. I recommend these tools to make the job smooth and easy. Most of all by using these tools you are doing the job the rite way, and not using what you have laying around in the garage that will beat up and destroy bike parts.
What is the difference between the Park tool usa steering race press and the tusk steering stem bearing press?
