The Tusk Feeler Gauge Set is a 32 blade tapered feeler gauge set with both metric and inch readings. The tapered end works well with those hard to get to valve tappets and buckets on performance motorcycles, ATV’s, and UTV’s. Each gauge measures 95mm in length. This precision feeler gauge set includes sizes from 0.001"/0.03mm to 0.040"/1mm. Think Tusk for all of your motorcycle, ATV, and UTV valve adjustment needs.
Tapered 32 blade feeler gauge set used to adjust valve clearances.
Blades have a tapered tip for easier access to valve tappets and buckets in tight areas.
Dual marked with metric (mm) and inch readings.
Includes the following gauge sizes: 0.001"/0.03mm, .0015"/0.04mm, .002"/0.05mm, .0025"/0.06mm, .0028"/0.07mm, .003"/0.08mm, .0035"/0.09mm, .004"/0.10mm, .005"/0.13mm, .006"/0.15mm, .007"/0.18mm, .008"/0.20mm, .009"/0.23mm, .010"/0.25mm, .011"/0.28mm, .012"/0.30mm, .013"/0.33mm, .014"/0.35mm, .015"/0.38mm, .016"/0.40mm, .018"/0.45mm, .020"/0.50mm, .022"/0.55mm, .024"/0.60mm, .025"/0.63mm, .026"/0.65mm, .028"/0.70mm, .030"/0.75mm, .032"/0.80mm, .034"/0.85mm, .035"/0.90mm, and .040"/1.00mm.
Received the gauges with a hole in the packaging, okay no biggie. While i was using them to check my valves I hear a ka-plink sound and the bolt on the end that holds them together had fallen out down my cam shaft (it wasn't tightened from the factory).
I had plenty of feeler gauges in my tool box, I’ve been an auto tech for 40+years, but nothing fit into the close spaces of this bike engine. I purchased the Tusk tapered guage set, and it fit like a glove.
lets be real, feeler gauges are never easy to use! they are forever covered in oil so slippery is thier life. trying to jam these things in tight places can be trickingly frustrating, but the tapered ends and length make it a ton easier!!! And dont even think about trying to clean the oil off these feelers... they seemingly grow and ooze thier own oil from somewhere.
The tapered blades make it easier to get into the tight spots present in modern 4 stroke race bikes. Definitely better than the old school blades. There were enough thickness options to accurately measure clearance. The blades step in 0.001 increments, it would have been a little easier to have even mm steps, but that's a pretty minor preference.
I was able to purchase all the parts, tools, and chemicals to do a complete top end rebuild on my 07 yz450f from RMATVMC for less than a 3rd of the cost to have it done at a local shop. Used the RMATVMC video series too! Great product Great price, arrived on time. Would recommend.
I checked these with a caliper and standard and they are spot on. My only gripe was about half the blades were coated with some thick crud and I had to scrub them clean before I could use them. I’m not sure what it was as they were also oiled as they should have been.
Of you own a 4 stroke you need to own these.even more so if you own a unicam honda.valve adjustment wouldn be possible with out these. Trust me i know i tried every other style of fg before i finally smartened up
Feeler gauges are mandatory for doing your own valve checks, however most are far too wide to fit into the narrow cam lobe areas present on most dirt bike heads. The tapered ends on these Tusks made the job easy and they seem to be as good of quality as any of my higher priced "machinist" brand gauges.
First I will say these feeler gauge are accurate, I used a vernier on them and they are what they say. I have another brand that were not accurate at all. Liked the tapered tip, excellent for checking valve clearances.
Good quality and great price. Would recommend everyone have a set in their tool box.
Good quality set of feeler gauges. Like that they're laser engraved in metric and the English equivalent. The tapered end works much better when trying to get into a small area like when checking valve clearance.
