  Comfortable, low-profile, protective boots.

  Very functional boots for riding and walking. They keep you dry after immersion at low water crossings. They may not be as protective as taller boots, but are very comfortable and wear well. They will become squeaky after some break-in, but that is to be expected as they articulate well at the ankle. I have not noticed any unusual wear after a 1600 mile trip in rough, rocky and sandy terrain. The foot bed is thick and may make it difficult for shifting on some bikes, but I got used to that after a few miles of use.The boot clamps/straps make getting in and out of the boots a breeze. The upper part of the boot with the velcro closure could have been fitted better. I have big calves, but still needed to secure most of the material firmly around my leg to obtain a secure fit with the clamps. But, maybe the added material provides more room for pants, leg braces and other protective gear. I highly recommend these boots.

  Sidi Adventure 2 Gore Tex Boots

  Taking the abuse so far.

  Nice boots but not quite as nice as I expected from Sidi. Fake welting on the sole is not what I was expecting although it hasn't been a problem. Not as comfortable as my trusty old and worn Gaerne Balance Oiled Boots however the additional protection is appreciated. Mine have been waterproof even standing in creeks. Holding up well so far this summer with about 2000 miles of North Idaho forest service roads and some singletrack abuse. These also saw snow time last winter on my Timbersled snowbike and worked surprisingly well partly because they are warm boots. I needed to get a size larger than my Gaerne's and Rocky Mountain exchange policy was excellent!
