Driven by a passion for creating a higher standard, the all-new AR-5 Helmet by Answer Racing brings an unparalleled step forward in safety and value. Never before has a fiberglass helmet been equipped with MIPS technology at such an affordable price.
Developed by brain surgeons and scientists to reduce forces on the brain, MIPS has revolutionized the way we think about helmet safety. By adding a low friction layer between the helmet and head, MIPS helps to reduce rotational forces on the brain that can occur during angled impacts to the head.
A refined interior features Cool-Core® technology that aids in evaporative cooling, a dual density EPS liner that offers superior impact absorption and removable/washable cheek pads and helmet liner.
Lightweight, Premium, Fiberglass Shell.
Removable, Washable, and Replaceable Coolmax™ Moisture wicking liner.
Dual density EPS liner.
Multiple intake and exhaust ports to keep you cool.
MIPS liner in between the comfort foam and the dual density EPS liner.
Meets or exceeds DOT safety standards.
For proper fit and size measure the circumference of your head 1" above your eyebrows and around the largest portion of the back of your head.

MIPS (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System) is a specialized helmet safety technology that is now being used in the top tier of off road helmets in order to greatly lessen the chances of traumatic brain injury.
By integrating an engineered low-friction layer into the liner of the helmet, MIPS enables a relative sliding motion between the head and the helmet so angular and rotational impact forces are absorbed and deflected.
Since most head impacts occur at oblique and unpredictable angles, helmets with MIPS Technology are able to offer better protection than helmets without.
Bought this as a closeout helmet. I would say it's... Ok. My 2 gripes about the helmet are the total coverage and the comfort of the cheek pads. The helmet feels like it doesn't cover down on to my forehead as much as other helmets I've had. So it gives me a feeling of being more exposed. The cheek pads and liner are not soft and comfortable at all. I have much cheaper helmets that have cheek pads and liners that are more comfortable than this.
Overall, it does fit true to size, it has MIPS which I wanted, it is very light, and it looks good. This helmet is a good deal on closeout, for sure, but I would not pay full price for it.
Fit snug, but not too snug and very comfortable. Nice wide view no problems with goggle fit. Looks great. Has the MIPS liner. No complaints about the helmet at all. Got a smokin' deal. Would buy another one. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is I caught it on clearance as last year's model and spare visors in my color were unavailable.... Can't have everything. Would be nice if more manufacturers would include a spare or two with the helmet since you can't get them after the first year.
It fits well and is very light. I would have given it 5 stars except on the first ride, I clipped a tree branch on top about an inch in diameter and the outer shell popped off above the forehead and it was a pain in the butt to get it back on. Nothing broken, just a little scratch but a whole lot of time getting it back on.
I read a review about some parts of the cheek pad falling down and the person exchanged it and the second one had the same issue I didn't understand till I got mine.
The cheek pads have a black plastic tab you can pull on to remove the cheek pads to get the helmet off incase of an accident. This is a great idea but the tabs are just shoved up out of the way between the shell and the liner. My tabs would start to fall down from just ridding I hate to think what they would do if you were mud ridding and they got covered in mud!!!
To fix this I got some heavy duty Velcro stick-on ovals. I cleaned the tabs to remove any oil or wax and stuck the Velcro to the tab facing the fiberglass I then stuck the other side to the Velcro to the one on the tab remove the clear backing and carefully shoved the tab back into place. I then used a butter knife to stick behind the tab to push the other sticky Velcro up against the fiberglass. Now it stays in place and can be pulled out if needed.
Size is dead on but it is more of an semi round shape and I have a true oval head it feels a little tight on my forehead above my eyebrows.
I bought this helmet due to the huge markdown on price. Honestly I was expecting a better helmet. It seems cheap compared to my $300 Bell. It fits good and is lightweight. I just wish the liner was as soft and comfortable as my Bell.
I bought a mens XL and it weighed 1303 grams. It's so light when I got the package delivered I thought the box was empty. After the first hour of riding it was worn in and comfortable. My goggles were centered in the opening which is something I've had problems with on other helmets. I had a lot less fatigue riding because of the light weight and I'd recommend this helmet and I'd buy another one especially if it was on clearance. My $900 Arai street bike helmet is more comfortable so I couldn't give this one 5 stars but the compromise of extra cushion for light weight is worth the sacrifice.
I bought my ar1 when i had longer hair and a full beard in a large which fit. I since then have short hair and just a scruff and the large was too loose especially with my proshot go pro mount constantly pulling my helmet down while dirt biking. I really liked the ar1 quality and chose this since it also has mips. Helmet fits good and is really comfortable in the medium.
However as another reviewer stated the adhesive for the chin foam is horrible. The ar1 is made better than the ar5 imo. Also the cheak pad plastic tabs keep popping out from its hiding spots. Pretty disappointed since i havent even hit the trails yet. Just cruising around town on pavement.
I love this helmet! Used the sizing guide and it fits perfectly, better than my past helmets. Weight is important to me and this is a well built, yet very light helmet. Great field of vision. I am shocked to get a helmet of this quality at this price!
I told my wife I needed a helmet and this looked nice and was on sale. She said OK, but she had to pick the color. Come Christmas day, I opened it and was very pleased. Helmet was light weight, very good looking and comfortable. Great value!
I really liked the looks of this helmet and at the sale price it seemed like a great deal. The first one I received I went to put on and the chin moulding popped from the outer shell. I returned that one and bought another. The second one came the exact same way. The adhesive they used in putting these together is poor. Unfortunately I needed a helmet so I couldn’t return the second one. Pretty unimpressed with the quality of this helmet.
