These added hours to my ride. The padding in the crotch is a blessing. Takes a few to get used to the extra material on the underside but it is well worth it. The hip padding definitely helped when I had a spill crossing a stone wall. They do add warmth being an extra layer( I wear underwear under them) but the protection is well worth the warmth

These are amazing. I rode 27 miles Sunday for the first time with no butt pain. The big pad had me worried until I rode in them. Definitely worth the money spent.

You really need some padding in the front of your riding shorts and the hip and tail bone padding is a good bonus for protection.

I seem to always have difficulty nailing the sizing on Euro brands, especially Astars. On their website, the size guide for US 36 at 6'2" average build and hips, recommends size small. I suggest using their international sizing (M, L, XL, etc) which seems true to size. I wear size large for underwear and athletic shorts with a US 34/36 waist, 32/34 inseam, 6'2" at 210lbs average athletic build. These shorts in large fit well, not too tight and not too loose. The packaging includes a size chart which would've been helpful on Astar's website (photo attached). Oddly it gives sizing on just height and then on just waist. The L already goes all the way down to the top of my knee. Based on height guide 6'0"-6'3" suggesting XL, the shorts would've been too big in the waist and I can't imagine wanting any more length. I'd recommend sticking to the waist measurements for sizing. Otherwise no complaints on the shorts and I appreciate the extra protection. I don't notice any bulkiness or restriction when desert riding mix of standing and sitting. The hip pads are perfectly on my hip bones and the chamois is relatively comfortable. They are longer than my previous riding shorts with padding on the outside of the lower thigh, right above the knee. Was worried this would be an issue with my Pod knee braces that come up to almost mid-thigh, but the braces were fine sitting over the shorts a bit.
