Great product, but pricey
I prefer to wear Gortex shell gloves for winter protection with no insulation, just great waterproof characteristics. Wearing these electric liners works out perfect for me. They are slim and not at all bulky. They heat up quickly and provide great comfort to my dry hands! I have tried them in my insulated riding gloves and feel they are a bit tight - believe I would need to buy a size larger glove to have them fit comfortably. I really don't know that I would want to wear these in an insulated glove as they heat up so quick and warm. I recommend them.

I purchased these liners because I don't care for bulky winter gloves. I put this under my riding gloves and the worked well with Barkbusters Blizzard Universal Handguards. I have ridden in freezing temps and hands stayed comfortable.

Nice Glove Liner ... +++
Heated grips are nice, but when the rides get colder these liners will add the heat you need to the top of your hands and thumbs. As with all liners, they are not expected to work alone, but as a supplement your gloves and heated grips. I really dislike the cold and you will catch me using the heated seats in my car year around ;-). I was worried to ride a motorcycle in cold temps because I like my creature comforts. Last weekend I rode in temps as cold as 34 degrees Fahrenheit and these liners kept my hands cozy when used in combination with the Firstgear Heated Jacket and Firstgear Troller. As a liner to a good glove they are perfect.

Hello,
I am looking at purchasing the Firstgear heated glove liners for my mountain/snow biking wife. $90 bucks for a good pair of heated gloves is not a bad price, however, is there I need to purchase in order to use these heated gloves, ie. DC coax plug Y-harness plug or more?

BEST ANSWER: These are 12v gloves designed to run with a motorcycle which has an alternator running on the supply. I believe on a bike they would pull a battery down maybe faster than expected. Check warm n safe dot com for a range of clothing designed to run on batteries. It is said firstgear's heated gear is custom made for them by this same company. To answer the question - yes, a Y harness to run down the sleeves, and a controller to set the temp. If running on a motorcycle as I do - a jacket which the gloves plug to, a controller with two temp controls, one for jacket, one for gloves. Power plug on coat plugs to a harness on my Kawasaki KLR650.
