Great Product, after 1 year the rubber washer failed.

Great bag, holds more than enough water for a long ride, had it for almost a year and a little rubber washer wore out causing it to leak, but I found a new one AMAZING value for money though, and it's extremely comfortable, when I ride I don't even feel a thing.

  • Zac Speed Dakar Pack

    James in AZ

    Great Design

I have used the Zac Speed packs and chest protectors for years. Excellent quality stuff. Comfortable and can carry lots of stuff in the Dakar. My last Dakar lasted about 7 or 8 years of dual sport use. It is still usable but is beginning to fray here and there. Good excuse to buy a new one. Understandable after all the hard use and years of all day rides in the sun. This one should last me another 7 or 8. Highly recommend.

  • Zac Speed Recon S-3 Pack

    Whitney in ID

    Great except for zippers.

Very comfortable pack whether used with straps or chest protector. Zippers do not last very long though. After a little over a year of use I think there is 1 zipper left that works right. Super disappointed for what it costs.

    Pack with great organization

I have had this pack for a couple of years and it's my favorite of all time. There are a lot of well thought out features. There are a few issues though, and for the price a few changes should be considered. A note on the sizing - I'm a woman with a larger chest and wear a men's M t-shirt. The pack fits with everything adjusted down (but it DOES fit a woman). I doubt it would go small enough for a men's S. The good: ...I love the blue / white / orange / red colors ...Pockets! This is the best organization of any pack I've owned (and there have been many). There are several in the main part, many in the outer part, two hip, and several small ones on the chest straps. Some are mesh, some zip, and some velcro. ...A dedicated lined goggle/glasses zipped pocket ...A high visibility rain cover in its own zip pocket on the bottom ...Very comfortable. It stays put on all but the most gnarly trails, but even on those its as good as any other pack. ...Enough space to hold every thing for a full day ride ...ventilated shoulder straps and a good carry handle. ...durable overall The bad: ...The side compression straps are a joke. They tend to pull apart the zipper rather than compress anything. Even if they put the buckle on the other side of the zipper they would be better, but I modified mine so I have a strap that compresses the pack. With the large load there is really nothing to tighten it in place. There are bottom straps to adjust the size of the load, and those are good. ...I had problems with the elastic straps that hold the shoulder straps. Mine broke the first day. The shoulder straps are still fine, but tend to roll up so I need to be careful when I put the pack on. ...The little mesh pocket on the back is small. I like to use it for a map and that barely fits. They could have made that pocket a lot larger except.... ...They wrote their name on the pack 6 times, plus logos. In itself it isn't that bad, but I think they wanted a big LEATT down the back so they made the mesh pocket smaller. If they made it three inches longer it would hold a light jacket, but now it only holds a well folded map. ...I don't use the back protector and removed it. I would like a less expensive pack without it. I get they are all about safety, but I have a 4.5 roost guard and don't need protection in the pack. It also makes the pack stick out far from your back. ...The water bladder is too small for a full day and is hard to get out to refill. I replaced it with a 3L which fits fine. I have a quick release. Without that the routing would be difficult each time. I don't like the water is in the main part of the pack. I have to remove a lot of things to refill it. If they made an insulated water compartment where the back protector is that would be better. That space doesn't have a way to route a hose so it doesn't work. ...The back is mesh. I haven't snagged it much, but something else against the roost guard would be better. ...The rain cover attachments don't match the pack. It stays on with the elastic, but I always wonder if I'm doing it wrong. ...I like there is a keyclip, but it is *impossible* to open.

    Perfect Pack

I love this pak! Plenty of storage for a long ride or use it like a camel back. Very well designed, 3 of my buddies bought one after seeing mine. I can roll up a jacket or sweatshirt and store it in the "pouch" pocket and cinch it tight.
