Details

If you like the feel and performance of Fox’s top-tier Instinct MX Boot but need something that handles single track and cross country riding, Fox still has you covered with their new Instinct Offroad Boot. Built directly on top of the Instinct’s platform, the Offroad is the same boot with a few crucial changes.

The biggest difference is the heavily-lugged Duratac sole that delivers superior grips when you put a foot down. Style cues on the Instinct Offroad are also slightly different with new colorways and important changes to the layout of impact-absorbing TPU panels.

These changes give the Instinct Offroad a slightly thicker feel to the boot through the toe box and heel counter since both are beefed up to handle the heavy impact you’re likely to run into offroad. But, you’re still getting the excellent hinge system with stops for both hyperextension and flexion, the super-convenient ball and socket type buckles that are on the original Instinct, and the comfortable, sneaker-like interior that Fox’s boots are known for.

    Specs:
  • Large, open lug pattern on sole provides traction and reduces mud build up.
  • Full coverage at the toe box for additional protection without hindering shifting.
  • Hinge lockout system stops motion before hyperextension.
  • Flawless buckle operation every time.
  • Exclusive Duratac rubber compound provides unprecedented grip and durability on the outsole and burn guard.
  • Slim medial design keeps you close to the bike with Duratac burn guard providing the grip.

Do not buy these
Do not buy these. Overpriced. Sole started to sperate weeks after buying. Causing my feet to get wet at every water hole/ crossing. For the best off road boots available from fox I was extremely unhappy with the construction.

They’re solid boots with super protection, but if you have high arches and man sized width of feet, stay away.
Toe box is extremely uncomfortable and it’s like wearing chuck Taylor’s for the fact that they’re so completely flat in the bed...these boots cause me pain. They are not true to size, I always wear a 10, but the 10 was unbearable, so I thought, hey I’ll move to an 11. Didn’t help at all...and I had already returned the 10’s so I’d be charged for returning the 11’s. So I thought on the positive side and stayed optimistic and thought I could brake them in...but every review I find says they don’t brake in. Now I have +$500 boot that I’ve worn once. *facepalm they’re priced at a high cost adventure boot but aren’t even waterproof either.

Oh and they squeak terribly loud! People will hear you walking from a mile away...I tried on some sidi crossfire 3’s and they’re completely silent.

I don’t even wear wide size shoes or boots, these are so thin!

Plastic junk
These are uncomfortable and overly bulky. Save your money. Sizing ran 2 sizes small, the padding in the shin area is huge, OTB pants extremely difficult to pull over the top. (Klim dakar&mojave)
There is no ventilation and my feet were hot riding in cool weather. Absolutely uncomfortable around the ankle area, these are gigantic plastic boots reminiscent of old ski boots or the old plastic rollerblades in the 90s. The price of near 600 is an absolute insult after seeing what they actually.are . Please do yourself a favor and go see these in person before you commit.

Feel great in my living room.
These boots are super comfy. Buckles are good, Little on the expensive side though. I have a very narrow foot sz14. boots fit good just a little small, I think they will pack out.
4 of 5 stars because they are all plastic, I wish they would use nicer materials.

The Best Boot Money Can Buy!
I bought this boot a few weeks ago, first in the size 11 because my normal shoe size is 10.5, but my toe was just hitting the front of the boot so I called Rocky Mountain and they sent me out a size 12 the same day and I had the size 11 shipped back. The size 12 fit perfectly! It was quite stiff to start out with, the toe box around the widest part of the foot was narrow and felt constricting at first. The first few rides in the boot made my feet hurt, but after about 3 rides the boot started feeling more comfortable. I have some pretty monster calves and always have had a hard time finding boots to fit around them, these Fox boots fit the first time, it was a little snug but after breaking in these boots I had to push the straps in about half way to keep it snug. I wore these boots for a 5 day riding event and it was an average of 95 degrees each day, even fully gear up my feet didnt feel obnoxiously hot or sweaty, my socks were still dry after the rides, I had them on for probably 10 hours each day. I love the off road traction, I think I also keep on the pegs a little better too! I am looking forward to my next ride with these boots! I wear a size 11 3E work boot and I think the size 12 was perfect for me!

Great boots maybe
As far as comfort and protection these things are perfect. They get a lot more traction than my comp 5 boots. You don't feel shifter at all which takes a little getting used to. The only reason I'm not giving the 5 stars is that my legs keep breaking out when I wear them. This never happened with my comps so I don't know if it's something different in the fabric are the process in making them. I'm gonna wash the inside somehow and hopefully it won't keep happening.
If it does it's gonna be an expensive education for these bad boys are very pricey.

Best boot
I have big calves and needed a boot that would work with this as well was fitting a size 14 or 13 foot. This boot is perfect for this tons of adjustment in the straps for the calve area. Literally no break in time these are very comfortable as well as durable. the replaceable sole i look forward to this feature in the future. Has great padding in the boot so your foot and calves do not get a rub rash.

If you ride trails then these are the boots!
These boots are by far the best boots I've ever owned! My old ones were the motocross Fox Instinct boot. Since I ride mostly hard core trails I decided to get the Instinct Off Road boot. So glad I did. They make a huge difference. Grip the bike, better traction, better overall protection. Took only 2 rides to break in perfectly. Really they were comfortable right out of the box but got more comfortable as I road more. I were a size 10.5 shoe, bought the 11 boot and they fit perfectly, so if you are a 1/2 size I recommend rounding up. In short I totally recommend these boots if you ride trails.

My favorite boots
It is well worth the money to invest in the Fox Instinct Offroad Boots. They have all the best developments from the latest motocross boots, but a few changes to optimize them for offroad / enduro use. They offer excellent contact with your bike for control. The grippy soles are a huge improvement in traction over motocross boots for when you have to step off the bike. They are incredibly water resistant: I've been in shin-deep water for 30 seconds to a minute and not had my feet get wet. They somehow also avoid retaining water, so your feet don't get gross from sweat either. I've found them to run true to size; I wear a size 10 sneaker and a size 10 Fox Instinct. They accommodate my wider toe box, unlike most of the Italian boots.

Is the toe box taller than the regular fox instinct? How does it compare to the sidi crossfire. Height and width? I have a narrow foot and coming from some old Sidi's (which I love) but thought about changing it up.
Clay G on Feb 23, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Toe box is slightly taller, as the Offroad Instinct offers full coverage at the toe box for additional protection from debris.
What are the differences from the regular instinct version?
