In Gaerne’s line of off-road boots, the SG10 stands as the little brother to the apex-predator SG12, providing pro-level protection at a slightly more-affordable price point that’s within the reach of more riders. The SG10 has more similarities with the 12 than differences. You still get a very stiff, traditionally stitched sole, excellent comfort with antimicrobial interior linings and memory foam padding throughout, and a robust set of alloy buckles that are some of the easiest to use on any off-road boot.

The main differences found on the SG10 include a dual hinge system with traditional hinges instead of the glide plate system on the SG12, and a calf opening/shin plate that is non-adjustable. Protection is kept on par with the SG12 as the SG10 still has a large layout of hard impact protection on the exterior, a very stiff lower with heavily reinforced toe box and heel cup, and the Razorback system that supports the ankle and prevents hyperextension and hyperflexion.

All in, the SG10 is a serious alternative to the SG12 if you’re looking to save a few bucks. Support and protection are some of the highest you’ll find and comfort doesn’t suffer in the slightest because of that rigidity. That makes the SG10 ideal for track and mx riders that love a solid, traditionally styled boot.

    Specs:
  • Lightweight upper combines microfiber inserts and PU protections.
  • Razorback pivot system grants a strong lateral support, preventing ankle twisting and without compromising the flexibility.
  • Closure system made of lightweight and replaceable buckles, Velcro on the top for a precise fit closure.
  • By removing the first two buckles on the top, it is possible to make the opening wider to accommodate a bigger leg or knee-brace.
  • Rubber grip guard for an exceptional grip of the bike and heat protection.
  • Dual composite rubber sole.
  • Memory cell PU inner foam liner.

Fantastic boots
Best boots I’ve owned. No need to break in. Fits true to size. I ordered less expensive boots in a different brand and It was a costly mistake. Order these boots and you will not be disappointed!

Couldn't be happier
I've always used Alpinestar in the past but decided to go with Gaerne this time since the Alpinestar soles have gone to garbage. Couldn't be happier so far. Out of the box they are more flexible and comfortable than my last pair of Alpinestars. The soles look significantly better (closer to how the old Tech8 soles used to be). Time will tell, but it looks like these will hold up well.

SG-10’s are a great value for someone who wants their boots to last.
I switched from Alpinestars some years back and have been pleased with how long the soles last comparatively. Started on SG-12 Gaerne’s but didn’t like how big the toe area was. My last pair were SG-11’s which I thought were great... but they are no longer available. Took a chance on SG-10’s and really can’t find any difference between them. Very happy! I will say the Alpinestars are a bit grippier on the pegs. If I was racing professionally this might be enough for me to buy them. At my age I’m just happy to be riding and not ordering boots every 6 months!

Not happy
I always buy SG12 boots. This time I tried SG10, I wear Pod K700 knee braces, and these boot will not fasten properly while wearing braces.

Great boot
This is my 3rd pair of Gaerne Boots. Love everything about them. The color, performance and especially the real reason we wear boots is for the protection.

Great boots for wide feet.
I have not ridden with these yet as I’m just getting back into riding and acquiring gear. I needed a MX boot that fit my wide foot, 13 wide. These boots fit the bill. The toe box is nice and wide. I ordered these in a size 13 and the fit is perfect. My last boots were Fox and even in a size 14 they were too narrow. Quality of these boots are simply amazing. If you have wide feet these boots are a great option!

Third pair
This is my third pair. First pair is still usable after many years and thousands of miles. Bought a new pair, size 10 a couple years ago as they were on sale and to replace the old ones. Wore them a few times and put them away to finish wearing out the old pair.
Wore them a couple weeks ago and found my feet must still be growing or my arch is getting flat as both of them are too short.
Got this pair size 11 a week ago and they are great. They have been improved and are almost two pounds lighter than my 1st pair.
Only negative is the price keeps going up.

Sg10
I'm a woods rider and I have used Jett boots for the past 7 years great boot holds up well . But it's hard to find them these days so it was time for a new pair of boots. For me and my money these are the best in comfort fit and style . This is a boot company with more than 50 years in the making they know a thing or two about boots . Highly recommend and a 5 star rating.

What is the main difference between the SG10 and SG11 and SG12 boots?
A shopper on Dec 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The ankle pivot is a little different, and the way the boot straps around your leg. The sg10 is s very good boot!!!
My Alpinestars squeak at the ankle hinge when i walk in them...do the Gaerne's squeak?
Kristine C on Dec 15, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes , sometimes one will squeak when I have been riding in sand . Wash them and apply a small amount of WD- 40 at hinge will help. Wipe plastic area around hinge with WD-40 on rag helps mine.
