The Kodiak Jacket is a new all-weather option in Klim’s revamped 2017 lineup, fitting alongside the other adventure-touring offerings as the super-robust, slightly more form fitting jacket that comes in second only to Klim’s hyper-premium Adventure Rally. At its most basic level, the Kodiak sticks with Klim’s format of a high-performance, technical outer shell; so expect to see full Gore-Tex weather protection and breathability throughout as well as high abrasion resistance from leather and advanced fabric overlays.

There are several unique aspects to the Kodiak and they set the jacket apart from both its competitors and other jackets inside Klim’s lineup. The biggest change is the sizing of the jacket. Traditionally Klim has had a very boxy, very American fit, but with the Kodiak they’ve slimmed that boxy shape down through the stomach and waist to cater to riders that like the more svelte or athletic fit.

Other big call outs include the 10 vents spread across the body, the typical array of full-featured pockets and zippers, and a full complement of D3O® molecular armor that gives your elbows, shoulders, and back CE level 2 protection; the highest amount of protection currently available. With an impressive stable of features and the revised fit scheme, Klim has positioned the Kodiak to be an all-around performer that can tackle a wilderness adventure on your GS just as easily as it can handle an on-road tour on your FJR.
