The Leatt GPX 5.5 V15 Helmet redefines head and neck protection. A company renowned for safety gear, Leatt has finally released its own off-road helmet. Rather than stick the Leatt name onto a design that is similar to existing ATV or motorcycle helmets, the GPX series of helmets adds innovative new protective features. But of course, would you expect anything less from Leatt?

The GPX 5.5 helmet features a composite matrix shell with an innovative V-Foam EPS (expanded polystyrene) liner enhances the helmet's protection while keeping it smaller than competitors. The smaller shell size allows the Leatt helmet to attain new levels of lightness – an important feature for a helmet as it both increases the rider's comfort but also decreases the rotational energy delivered to the head and brain in a crash.

Leatt has introduced other cutting-edge features as well. For example, the 360° Turbine technology offers two important helmet protective measures. It allows the helmet to absorb more force from a low-energy impact, but it also combats rotational energy as well. In fact, one of the ways that the Leatt GPX helmet line sets itself apart from other ATV and dirt bike helmets is the reduction of rotational acceleration.

Of course, Leatt has also taken great care to design a helmet with comfort in mind in addition to safety. That's why the GPX helmet features an impressive ventilation system with an innovative design that allows for great airflow. The helmet is also built to accommodate other great Leatt gear, including the legendary Leatt neck brace as well as hydration packs.

There are no doubts about it. If you are looking for a helmet that features the latest safety technology in an attractive and comfortable package, the Leatt GPX 5.5 V15 helmet is for you.
  • 360° Turbine Technology
    - Up to 30% reduction of head impact at concussion level
    - Up to 40% reduction of rotational acceleration to head and brain
    - Improves multiple-impact protection
  • Reduced Outer Shell Volume
    - A smaller helmet shell reduces forces transferred to the neck
    - A 10% smaller shell transfers up to 20% less rotational forces to the head & brain
  • 3D In-Molded V-Foam
    - Multi density V-shaped impact foam molded to the outer shell
    - Significantly reduces G-forces transferred to the head & brain
    - Increased absorption, slimmer and a stiffer structure than a normal helmet foam
  • Optimal Neck Brace Compatibility
    - Specially designed helmet features and shape to take full advantage of the Leatt neck brace design
    - Rear hyperextension impact platform with neck brace optimized shape
  • Quattro Force Control
    - Composite matrix reduced outer volume shell in 3 sizes
    - 3D in-molded V-Foam for maximum energy absorption
    - 360° Turbine Technology for concussion level impact protection
    - 360° Turbine Technology for reduction of rotational acceleration
  • Maximized Ventilation
    - Effective even at very low speeds
    - Optimized for off-road racing
  • Visor with breakaway function for rotational reduction in a crash
  • Low friction cheek pads for emergency removal
  • Hydration ready
  • Moisture-wicking, breathable, antimicrobial and washable liner
  • DOT and ECE certified

Great helmet
Small, light, and well ventilated. Your bike will sound much louder with this helmet compared to others. I took a fairly big crash/ hard hit in this helmet and felt it did great for protection. On my 2nd one now.

Great deal on closeout
Great helmet. Lite, small shell size.
My only gripe would be the visor won't adjust low enough for my liking.

Great light weight helmet
Only grip I have is that I have to push my goggles into the helmet. I bought the XS and it fits snug but not too snug. I went off the measurements on the Leatt website, not the measurements off of the RM website.

The visor was a little hard to figure out how to tighten down but I finally got it. Super light and the air flow seems pretty good.

Very good helmet
Bought this for myself but ended up fitting my son instead. Sizing seems to be small. Bought xxl when I normally wear a large/x large. Was tight on me. Fit my son perfectly. He says that the ventilation is great. Loves the look and fit.

Love it
This is a great helmet. I ordered based on their size chart and the fit is perfect. I really like the reduced outer shell size. The ventilation is better than my old helmet.

good helmet, bad visor
The helmet has great ventilation and is comfortable, the only negative so far is the visor doesn't come down low enough to be of much use. Just have to use darker lenses than normal with this helmet.

Excellent for the money
Light weight, great fit, decent build quality, unmatched ventilation all for a reasonable price. Only complaint, is the visor. its too short and too rigid.

Great helmet! Light weight with the best ventilation out there!
I would give this helmet 5 stars however if you crash and break the visor you are done. I own 3 of the GPX 5.5 helmets and I have found that it is next to impossible to get parts such as a visor from Leatt, something to consider before you buy a Leatt helmet.

I however find this helmet to be the king of lightweight helmets and the ventilation/cooling may be the best out there, not to mention it is very comfortable, you hardly know you are wearing it. To bad their support is so bad.

If the safety technology of the 5.5 helmet is the same as the 6.5, why does it lack the same safety certifications?
Erik A on Mar 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi Erik, both the 5.5 and 6.5 helmets are DOT and ECE certified. They have the same safety features, liner, and visor. The only difference between the two is the shell composition - the 6.5 is a carbon construction and the 5.5 is a composite construction.
I usually wear a size large helmet, but my head diameter is 22.5 inches, should I downsize to a medium for this helmet?
Alec G on Jul 1, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I didn't measure my head diameter, but I also usually wear a large helmet, bought a large Leatt 5.5, and it fits well. Note that it is much more comfortable than my other brand helmets when riding with a (Leatt) neck brace.
For the white helmet, is the accent color orange or red? Looks like orange based on pic, but want to confirm before purchase.
MICHELLE S on Jul 2, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I have the black helmet but the accents are red, I would think the white helmet also has red accents. It says the colors are white/red.
How does the sizing compare to a Troy Lee Designs helmet?
maddie m on Jan 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Some people feel that the helmet is a little narrower than most. Check out our video in the product description to see a comparison between the two.
My head measures 23. But I wear Fly Toxin in XL (L was completely no-go). How would this helmet run?
Stanislav A on Jul 1, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hello, if you are measuring at 23 inches, you would fall into the Large sizing (23 1/4" - 23 5/8"). Thanks
So I am really liking the integrated water line. what accessories would I need to get to use it properly or would that work with my hydration back already just have to guide the hose through the system?
Zac C on Jun 27, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi Zac, here is a link to our internal hydration kit - https://www.leatt.com/shop/catalog/product/view/id/1842/s/helmet-hydration-kit/category/741/
I'm at 22.25 inches. Should I get the small or medium?
A shopper on Jun 26, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I would recommend the Medium size. Thanks
How much does it weigh?
Steve G on Jun 11, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Estimated weight Size LG 1,250g +/- 50g
Is there any difference (other than color) between this and the $250 clearance Leatt 5.5?
JOHN M on Sep 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi John, the clearance helmet has our first generation moisture-wicking velcro-in liner and cheek pads. The non-clearance helmet has our newer Dri-Lex snap-in liner and cheek pads.

The construction of the helmet and safety features will be the same for both clearance and non-clearance helmets.
What is the difference between the v15 and v04?
Tim M on Mar 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: That specifies the different colorways.
