  Runs small good protection.

  As others have said, sizing runs very small. I wear 34 jeans and medium in all my shorts. I ordered medium, before I read the reviews, and couldn't get them up to my hips. Returned for XL and they fit as expected, tight but not too tight. Padding is really substantial, should keep me from getting any future injury like the one I am healing up from now after falling on the edge of a boulder during a gnarly climb.
