The Crossfire 2 is Sidi’s top-of-the-line motocross boot, offering a high level of protection and comfort. The heel is ridged to improve shifting. The heel’s positioning also contributes to the boot’s overall anatomical design, which positions the heel and ankle to provide excellent performance, stability and comfort. The dual hinge system provides a good range of motion (including improved backwards flex) without sacrificing protection from hyperextension and hyperflexion. The buckles are well designed and easy to use, enhanced by the presence of only a single screw, which gives the buckle some wiggle room.
The slender appearance is made possible by not using an inner booty. Instead, the bottom interior utilizes Cambrelle for enhanced comfort. The top interior of the Crossfire 2 is lined with a Teflon mesh that wicks away moisture and keeps your foot cool. To improve temperature regulation, the boot also includes several vents on the back and the lateral side.
The outside of the Sidi Crossfire 2 is designed for impact resistance and long-term durability. The medial side features a grippy heat shield. The boot is built with Sidi’s proprietary Technomicro, a patented synthetic microfiber. The shin plate is made with a thermoplastic material and can be adjusted to fit various calf sizes. This feature is nice as it accommodates knee braces very well.
One of the hallmarks about the Cross fire 2 is that so many parts on it are replaceable: the abrasion plate, the shin plate, the heat shield, the kickstart guard, the buckles and the ankle strap. Unlike the SRS model, the sole is not replaceable at home on the Sidi Crossfire 2 TA. This comes at a price advantage as well as the inclusion of a toe guard and a slightly different sole pattern.
