  Good pants, not waterproof

  I just did a 2700 mile ride hitting 3 BDR routes on my 701. I wore the Dakar pants every day, from pretty cold to pretty hot. Needed long underwear for the cold climate areas, the vents were great in Death Valley. In the river crossings, water splashed up and ran down my legs into the boots. My previous "outside the boot" pants always prevented that. Keep this in mind if you hope to keep your boots dry. Overall the pants were great quality, happy to have them in my gear pile now. The Dakar pants are not rainproof at all but they do dry fast when riding 40+mph, standing with all vents open. I wish they had belt loops to have a proper belt for my side arm holster - Minus one star there.

  Great material and design. But poor craftsmanship.

  I love the pants. The material is fantastic. But the sewing quality needs major mprovement... It's got everything a adventure pants needs and the price is right.. However...a few things.. 1.they are hot. With liner taken out, and all vents open..theyre still really hot..and needs bigger vents or more of them. 2. The main front zipper ripped away from the pants the 2nd time I wore them. 3. The right pocket zipper broke the next day. No big deal..just inconvenient.. they were returned with no issues.. I'd still buy them again..
