Troy Lee first introduced their super-premium SE4 helmet just a couple years ago, but they’re already taking big steps towards making those same premium features available to everyone with their SE4 Factory Helmet—an affordably priced off-road helmet with premium features. The SE4 can offer these premium features at such a low price because TLD made this version with a slightly heavier polyacrylite shell. The SE4 still retains a very light weight (just over 3 pounds) that still meets DOT and ECE safety standards. TLD offers the SE4 in carbon shell and a new composite shell version, but the poly version still gives you all the same safety features at a much lower price.

The MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) safety technology is worked into the triple-density EPS liner—so while MIPS is helping redirect energy from rotational and angled impacts, the EPS manages low, mid, and high-speed impacts with a layer designed for each. 22 ventilation ports move air throughout the helmet to keep your head cool and your goggles from fogging up, and with the interior comfort liner and anatomically shaped cheek pads, the SE4 will stay very comfortable. With all of these features combined into a mid-200 dollar price point, Troy Lee has significantly raised the bar for affordable helmets by making one of the best sub-300 dollar helmets there is.

Protection
  • MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System), is a revolutionary technology that lets the helmet slide relative to the head, adding more protection against rotational violence to the brain caused by angled impacts.
  • Triple density EPS inserts with varying low and high speed impact-specific densities.
  • Anatomical "3D" contoured cheek pads with emergency release system for EMS responders.
  • Expanded polypropylene chin bar liner for multi-impact performance.
  • Three shell sizes to more accurately fit a variety of head sizes and rider ages, improving overall safety.
  • Stainless D-rings save weight and have increased material tensile strength.
  • Plastic visor screws and brass inserts for easy impact break-away.
  • Exceeds certifications for DOT FMVSS 218 and AS/NZS 1698.
  • Includes Troy Lee Designs drawstring helmet bag.

    Comfort
  • Lightweight polyacrylite shell construction weight just over 3 pounds.
  • Removable snap-in, washable comfort liner
  • 16 intake and 6 large exhaust ports channel air to cool the head and draw hot air away.
  • Brow cover design channels air behind goggles directly to cool the forehead.
  • Exhaust ports are fed by 9 internal passages to provide excellent dissipation of heat.
  • Massive air flow ducts utilize negative pressure to draw hot air away from riders head and promote massive cooling, a significant advantage in warm riding conditions.
  • MIPS

MIPS (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System) is a specialized helmet safety technology that is now being used in the top tier of off road helmets in order to greatly lessen the chances of traumatic brain injury.
By integrating an engineered low-friction layer into the liner of the helmet, MIPS enables a relative sliding motion between the head and the helmet so angular and rotational impact forces are absorbed and deflected.
Since most head impacts occur at oblique and unpredictable angles, helmets with MIPS Technology are able to offer better protection than helmets without.
  • Sizing

For proper fit and size, measure the circumference of your head 1" above your eyebrows around the largest portion of the back of your head.

    Size Chart
