Last year, Polaris announced the new General™ rec-utility UTV, a side-by-side designed to combine the “hard-working heart” of the Ranger with the “high-performance soul” of the RZR. For the 2017 model year, Polaris is upping the ante with the new Polaris General 4, a four-seater version of the General.

The General 4 comes with 27″ Dirt Commander 8-ply tires and Walker Evans suspension. The wheel base is wide, and the machine has 12 inches of ground clearance. It can definitely handle the trails, and with 48 liters of storage, it can carry a lot of your equipment as well. But it’s also designed for work in mind, with a 1,280 lb. payload and 1,500 lb. towing capacity (with its 2″ receiver). It also comes standard with a front bumper and 4,500 lb. winch.

Polaris is making a big push not only regarding the function of the General 4 but also the comfort of it. It sports bucket seats with plenty of shoulder and leg room – even in the back two seats. The center console in the rear provides storage, cup holders and even 12-volt chargers. The driver seat can also slide to reach a comfortable position.
