A.R.C. Battle Born Adventure Pant

Price: $149.99

First on the list and lowest in price, the Battle Born Adventure pant is one of the best values on the market. We know firsthand how durable, functional, and protective these pants are because not only do we wear them on nearly every adventure ride, but because we designed, developed, and tested the gear right here at RMATVMC.

A driving motivator behind these pants was to offer a few, key premium features at a less than premium price. Some of those features include a 600D polyester shell and ballistic poly fabric over the knees for durability. Two large thigh vents and external vents in the back keep the pants breathable, while CE rated armor in the knees and padding in the hips keep the pants protective. And, to keep the pants adaptable to all climates and riding conditions, there is an inner waterproof liner and a quilted thermal liner that can be removed for dryer, warmer riding.

High value, feature rich, and versatile, the Battle Born Adventure Pant is a great option for entry-level riders and seasoned pros alike.

REV’IT Offtrack Pant

Price: $329.99

A step up in price, REV’IT’s Offtrack Pant builds on the features of the Battle Born while adding a few more of its own.

Some of the more noticeable similarities between the two pants are large thigh vents, removable waterproof and thermal liners, and deep cargo pockets. Both pants also have the same 600D polyester shell and similar reflective material.

Some differences you’re going to see with the Offtrack pants, though, start with their fit. Slimmer and tighter, the pants would definitely be categorized as more of a European style. There’s also a huge protection upgrade here from the Battle Born pants – REV’IT incorporated CE Level 2 armor in the knees and added CE Level 1 armor in the hip pads. The manufacturer’s SUREGRIP grip patches on the seat of the pants add some extra security as well, ensuring the rider will stay in control in all weather conditions without sliding in the seat. For convenience, the pants can be zipped into their matching jacket.

An ideal blend of protection, ventilation, storage space, and comfort, the REV’IT Offtrack pants are a great middle-of-the-road option in both budget and features.

Klim Latitude Pants

Price: $519.99

When it comes to quality, durability, and functionality, few pants compare to Klim’s. Their pants are some of the most intuitive on the market, and the Latitudes are no exception.

That said, there are a few characteristics that are worth pointing out. First, the pants are noticeably slim – slimmer than most others on this list. It’s true that Klim designed the Latitude pants with more of a touring rider in mind, but we’ve found that they do just as well in the dual sport/ADV category. Second, the pants look simple – simpler than their $500 price tag warrants. While the Latitudes may look nondescript, they’re actually packed with features and technicality.

For starters, the pants boast a two-layer Gore-Tex shell – guaranteed to keep you dry and guaranteed for life. That shell is it, though – the pants have no inner liners or removable base layers, which means you’re in charge of your base layers, but the pants stay pretty lightweight. Klim also put a huge emphasis on protection with 840D Cordura laminate in the high abrasion zones, leather knee panels on the inside of the knees, and D3O T5 EVO XT armor in the hips and knees, both of which exceed CE Level 1 certification. Comfort is taken care of with Klimatek cooling stretch mesh in the elbow and shoulder pad pockets and maximum ventilation via four ports: two front thigh intake vents and two back thigh exhaust vents.

If you’re looking for a pant with the same features as the Latitudes, just a little more fabric and room, check out the Carlsbad pants also from Klim. If you’re looking for a pant that’s even more technical and capable than the Latitudes, read on for the Badlands Pro.

Klim Badlands Pro Pant

Price: $719.99

If there’s one pant that can take you around the world, it’s the Badlands Pro from Klim. The ultimate in technicality, durability, and protection, this is the last adventure pant you’ll ever need. If you’re a serious adventurer, these pants are going to be well worth the investment (which is a pretty big investment).

Compared to the aforementioned Latitude pants, there are a few big upgrades. The two-layer Gore-Tex shell becomes a 3-layer shell that Klim asserts is the most breathable motorsports shell construction on the market, breathing 25% better than the shell on the Latitude. 500D Karbonite ripstop, highly abrasion resistant panels, in the seat and pockets of the pants reduce wear, along with stronger leather panels inside the knees. The Latitude has similar leather panels, but not made of Superfabric, Klim’s custom-engineered variable density fabric. Superfabric gives the high-abrasion zones ironclad resistant without sacrificing comfort or movement.

Another huge facet of the Badlands Pro Pant is its Aero Pro D3O armor. It exceeds CE Level 2 certification and offers the most coverage and highest performance of any armor technology on the market. In fact, Klim asserts that Aero Pro ventilates 5 times as much as the next best performing D3O armor while offering 445 more coverage.

At $700, the Badlands Pro Pant are a huge investment, but one that promises to last for a lifetime.
