West Coast Grand Prix Pro Report

Eric Yorba took off with the early lead. He was followed by Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Precision Concepts Race Team’s Robby Bell in 2nd and Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Precision Concepts Race Team’s Justin Seeds in 3rd. Bell tried to catch up to Yorba, but he was unable to do so initially. Meanwhile, Dalton Shirey, who finished the first lap in only 7th, managed to work his way up on lap 2 to eventually overtake Seeds for 3rd. Bell and Shirey pushed forward, eventually getting ahead of Yorba by the end of lap 4. Unfortunately, neither Bell nor Shirey completed lap 5, both of them receiving a DNF.

Bell’s and Shirey’s misfortunes allowed Yorba to retake the lead, and he finished the race with a win. Seeds similarly moved up into 2nd. Initially, Blayne Thompson inherited 3rd, but his race also ended in a DNF. Justin Jones, who had been slowly working his way through the pack, took over 3rd. Once Jones was in 3rd, he set his sights on Seeds. He couldn’t quite make up the difference, however, and Seeds placed 2nd while Jones placed 3rd.

Yorba’s victory shot him ahead in overall points, while Thompson’s, Bell’s, and Shirey’s DNFs crippled them. Yorba passed Thompson and now has a 21-point lead. Thompson remains in 2nd. Seeds and Colton Udall have both passed Bell and Shirey.

West Coast Grand Prix Pro II Report

Trevor Stewart jumped to the lead and immediately created a sizeable gap between himself and 2nd. Mitch Anderson initially took the runner-up spot, but he was eventually passed by Beau Baron on lap 5. Nothing changed in the podium positions from then on, with Stewart taking the win and Baron and Anderson finishing in 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

Stewart has won every race he’s entered in the class this season, but since that only amounts to three rounds, he’s only accumulated enough points to get into 3rd overall for the season. Baron is currently in 1st, seven points ahead of Anderson in 2nd.
