Christophe Pourcel found his groove at round 5, contending with the top riders at High Point. Musquin took first in both motos to claim the points lead.
Torrential rain created a difficult track at the MXGP of Italy, but Romain Febvre still managed to take the overall win. He was followed by Kevin Strijbos and Todd Waters. In the MX2 class, Tim Gajser took the win.
