The final round of the Pro Motocross Championship proved to be one of the year’s most-difficult races as wet conditions devolved the track into a muddy mess. Blake Baggett and Benny Bloss fought strong competition and terrible conditions to end the season in 5th and 7th, respectively.

Blake Baggett #4 – 450MX

Baggett showed his trademark speed through practice and off the start in moto 1, but he went down in a section of deep mud during the opening laps. Baggett freed his bike and made a pit stop before rejoining the race at the end of the pack. He fought back to 16th by the end of moto 1. Despite the setback, Baggett had a great start to moto 2 and maintained composure as he rode to 5th place. His 16-5 finishes earned him 10th overall at Ironman, and he finished the season in 5th place for championship points.

“It was an okay day,” said Baggett. “My starts were good both motos, though being stuck in the mud did not help. Not where we wanted to finish today, but I am happy to end the season 5th in points.”

Benny Bloss #60 – 450MX

Bloss had an equally difficult time that started with pile-ups and tip overs sending him back to 11th in moto 1. Moto 2 was more consistent for Bloss, but a slower start forced him rearward early on. Despite the worsening conditions, Bloss found consistency and took another 11th-place finish. His performance put him in 11th overall for Ironman and gave him 7th overall on the season.

“It was a wild day,” said Bloss. “I couldn’t find a flow in the mud today, and it was unfortunate I had a few crashes. While I’m not happy with my finish, I am happy ending the season 7th in points.”

Dakota Alix #42 – 250MX

Due to a shortened practice schedule caused the by poor track conditions, Dakota Alix was unable to line up for the final 250 races of the season. He finished in 21st position in championship points.
