Picture of the Sweetness 2.0 2014 KTM 300 XC-W Bike Build

What is better than a brand new dirt bike? How about one built just for you? The crew here at Rocky Mountain ATV/MC has a very good idea of what our CEO Dan Thomas wants as the ultimate trail machine. The original Sweetness, a 2011 KTM 300 XC-W, is a great bike, so the bar was set very high from the start of this project. Sweetness 2.0 is a 2014 KTM 300 XC-W that we sourced from our St. George dealership and is a great base to start with.

Check out the video below to find out all about it.

KTM 300 XC-W Bike Build Components

We have some great resources for a build like this. Everything on this bike is available from Rocky Mountain ATV/MC and can be shipped to your door within two days! We also filmed a couple of how-to videos while building this bike. We did rely on a couple of industry experts, however. Jeff Slavens is a friend of ours, and he milled the head for us to regain a little compression that we lose because of our altitude. Cory Pincock from Fluid Five Suspension is also a friend of ours who knows how we like our suspension.

Ready to Ride

Of course, a bike that is nicknamed Sweetness 2.0 isn’t meant to sit around looking pretty (although that’s nice too). It’s meant to get out there and ride! Stay tuned to RM Rider Exchange for future ride reports, and you’ll certainly see Sweetness 2.0 in action. In fact, it recently had an appearance as part of the Ticket to Ride trip in April.

How do you like this bike build? Have you recently completed a project bike of your own? Let us know in the comments! (And don’t forget to send us your photos in our Ride and Tell section.)
