Highly recommend. Just finished a trip through Peru, ranging from sea level to 15,000 feet. Jacket performed great. Some passes had sleet and cold rain but the jacket was rain proof and provided great wind protection. At lower altitude the ventilation worked very well. The liner was perfect and in particular I liked the neoprene wrist enclosures with Velcro straps. Kept the wind out very well. Lots of good storage pockets and access. Very good fit.Read All Reviews

I thought this pack would be a great economical pack that would keep me hydrated through a hare scramble. I filled it up with water and put it on and went to the starting line. Before it was my classes turn to go, I could feel cold water running down my back. This bladder couldn't even last one race. I drank all the water that was in it so it would not be a waste. Looking at it after I got home i found it to be leaking around the fitting where you screw on the line to the mouthpiece. I would not recommend this to anyone nor would I buy another.Read All Reviews

The good: The first thing I noticed was how good it looked and how well it appeared to be built. I get lots of compliments on the jacket. The waterproof chest pocket. I haven't noticed any water getting into it, even in heavy rain at 60 mph. The fit is pretty good for my build (6'3" 200lbs) in a size large. And it has plenty of adjustability for layering. The bad: Not waterproof! The first few commutes in the rain I was noticing some rain getting in. I thought it was through the vents at first and tried making sure I had them zipped up all the way. Then one day I decided to go for a longer ride in the rain to put it through it's paces. I ended up getting wet on my chest, biceps, and thighs. Anywhere wind was hitting me, water was getting through. So I emailed Alpinestars through their website, a week goes by...no reply. So I call the customer support number. They give me a U.S. email to email them and told me my email must have gone to their headquarters and been lost in the mix. A few days later I get an email to call them, then when I do they tell me to email them. Anyway, a few transactions later the guy tells me this "The Andes V2 has a light external coating but is not a laminated jacket. After using this garment in heavy rain for extended amounts of time the outer shell can absorb water. The Drystar membrane is floating between the outer shell and internal liner which will keep all water from penetrating to the rider. It is possible if the customer wants more water protection externally to add a waterproof spray or wax. (ex. www.nikwax.com) https://www.nikwax.com/en-us/productselector/waterproofing.php However, this will effect the breathability of the Drystar membrane." This is just pathetic customer service since it's supposed to have a one year warranty and I got it this summer.Read All Reviews

Obviously, I did not have a chance to view these knee protectors prior to purchase. I think the previous reviews are being generous to say the least. My biggest concern is the lack of protection padding and its density. For this unreal price, I would expect a thicker cushion of foam and somewhat more dense. FYI, these have no hard cover either which they state. Also, the notion that one size fits two is ill conceived. If you are at the high or low of your size, these will be either too big or too small. I am 6' and 150 lbs. and the small/medium size are too small. I would not buy these again and can not recommend them.Read All Reviews
