Motocross helmets provide the ultimate in off-road racing headgear. Designed for the rigors of motocross, these helmets appeal to everyone from professional racers to casual trail riders. Why? Quite simply, there’s no such thing as too much protection when it comes to your head – especially when you’re riding an off-road powerhouse.
So what really separates a high-end motocross helmet from the rest? Traditional helmet testing is held to strict standards, but it is wholly inadequate when considering the accidents that are faced in actual environments. While most helmets provide sufficient protection from direct impacts, most accidents actually involve an angular impact, resulting in rotational energy being transferred directly to the brain, leading to head trauma. High-end motocross helmets consider this in their engineering, helping to reduce to energy transfer to the brain by absorbing it using proven technology. Furthermore, when a helmet must be removed by emergency personnel after an accident, motocross helmets often have removable cheek pads to ease removal and reduce the likelihood of further injury.
But there is more to motocross helmets than listing off safety features or DOT/Snell certifications. The tightknit feeling that the MX community has established has created a unique flair and culture not duplicated anywhere else. As a result, these helmets display a visual appearance that blends the raw energy and refined focus characteristic of the sport.
Of course, everyone has their own style, and that’s why you’ll find literally hundreds of options to choose from. When it comes to motocross helmets, you’ve got to discover something that fits your personal expression as well as it fits your head. Will you find one here that fulfills both requirements? Today’s helmets are also often equipped with anti-bacterial lining to provide an odorless interior and comfortable fit.

Got the Fly F2 Carbon Pure helmet in the matte red two weeks ago. I’ve only used it twice now. Feels very lightweight. Ventilation is good as the weather temp went from 55 in the am to 80 mid day. Extra pads under chinstrap are soft and help prevent strap chaff. There was a question from a previous buyer about which goggles will fit. I wear the Dragon MDX and they fit great. Love the matte red. Have gotten a lot of compliments on it.Read All Reviews

Some people might say this helmet runs a little small: I think it's true to size. It felt extremely tight all over when just trying it on at home, but the first time I rode with it I forgot all about it and didn't take it off for two hours. I want my helmet to be tight like that when it's new because the comfort liner WILL pack out over time. It's just important the EPS liner fits right. I have what Arai would call and 'Intermediate Oval' head, and this helmet fits me well. The face port is large and easily accommodates my 100% OTG goggles. There is enough room behind the in bar for me to get my drinking tube in there. My criticisms are that it's a little heavier than some of the competition, even in the same price bracket, and the vent in the visor will allow sunlight in the rider's eyes if the visor is adjusted towards the lower end of it's range. Push it up and this problem goes away. Trying it on at home I thought they'd gotten the location of the chinstrap a little bit wrong, but in the field I never thought twice about it.Read All Reviews
