Motocross helmets provide the ultimate in off-road racing headgear. Designed for the rigors of motocross, these helmets appeal to everyone from professional racers to casual trail riders. Why? Quite simply, there’s no such thing as too much protection when it comes to your head – especially when you’re riding an off-road powerhouse.
So what really separates a high-end motocross helmet from the rest? Traditional helmet testing is held to strict standards, but it is wholly inadequate when considering the accidents that are faced in actual environments. While most helmets provide sufficient protection from direct impacts, most accidents actually involve an angular impact, resulting in rotational energy being transferred directly to the brain, leading to head trauma. High-end motocross helmets consider this in their engineering, helping to reduce to energy transfer to the brain by absorbing it using proven technology. Furthermore, when a helmet must be removed by emergency personnel after an accident, motocross helmets often have removable cheek pads to ease removal and reduce the likelihood of further injury.
But there is more to motocross helmets than listing off safety features or DOT/Snell certifications. The tightknit feeling that the MX community has established has created a unique flair and culture not duplicated anywhere else. As a result, these helmets display a visual appearance that blends the raw energy and refined focus characteristic of the sport.

This helmet is one of the best out there. ITs awesome looking and feels like you are wearing a silk pillow. If you are gonna protect your head, you might ask well go all out. It is your noggin after all and without it, you are pretty much useless. This will definitely keep your eggs from breaking. This helmet is not only cool looking but it also has the MIPS system and isSNELL/DOT approved. SNELL is a much better rating compared to DOT and even ECA. SNELL has very high safety standards and I feel good knowing it passes the highest tests out there. I love the Matte/Gloss combo finishes. I have the blue helmet and it really pops out on the trail/track. Definitely can't miss my head from afar if you're looking. I do have one complaint....That is, that the chin strap is really uncomfortable. I mean FOX went all out with this helmet and still left this uncomfortable beard destroyer of a chinstrap on their helmets? I used to rock the V-1 and that thing was uncomfortable. GO forbid you have hair on your head or a beard. Thats my only complaint and it isn't even that bad. I can live with the chinstrap. I saw this helmet priced for 449.00 at my local cycle shop but I got it for 224.00 on this site. Rocky Mt Atv & M are the best to deal with. I had a size issue with this helmet. I am a large in other FOX helmets but in this I am a Medium. I had a lot of room in the large around my temples and I could get two fingers down the sides above my cheek pads. That means your helmet is too big! A helmet that is too big will not protect you like one that fits. If you are gonna spend money, get the right size! Anyway, when I called to make my exchange, they picked up the phone (800 #) after one ring, no hold, and no annoying automated BS. I told the guy I got the wrong size and not only did he take care of everything no questions asked....he also offered to pay for my expedited shipping! All said and done I will have this helmet overnighted and save ten dollars compared to my original order! My original order was 244 (20 bucks rushed delivery), and my order after returning the large and getting the med is 234. They were awesome to deal with and I will definitely do all my business with them. Do yourself a favor and get this helmet!!!!Read All Reviews
