  • Tourmaster Transition Series 3 Motorcycle Jacket

Tourmaster Transition Series 3 Motorcycle Jacket

I wanted the series2, the 3 seems cheaper

My buddy has the series 2 and it looked like a good compromise enduro jacket (keep you warm, additional zip out liner, fit well, has good protection built in, good ventilation, not cost $500). I looked a t a lot of different brands and to me most of them were lacking some of the features that I wanted. Even the slim jackets didnt seem to cover all the bases. When I went to buy this it was at the series 3, and it looked the same as the two from what I could tell. When I got it it seemed a bit lighter weight fabric than the older series 2. After a few rides and get-offs one of the cinches on the arms tore off. The cinches take up the slack along the arm so the internal padding stays in place, otherwise it would just slide out of the way when you fall. Tourmaster wanted me to return the jacket and RMatv replaced it. I almost feel like I just should have taken the credit and kept looking.

Cheap to buy and cheaply made....

The Akito Desert jacket is very cheap to buy and the old maxim "you get what you pay for " applies here......The main zip broke on mine after the second time I wore it .........So if you only want a jacket to last you 2 trips then buy this one; if you expect a jacket to last longer then spend the extra and buy a proper jacket.

  • Alpinestars Andes Drystar Textile Motorcycle Jacket

Alpinestars Andes Drystar Textile Motorcycle Jacket

    Love it

I've tried cheaper jackets before this one. Don't waste your money on cheap jackets, especially if they have zip off sleeves. Alpinestars has made a great jacket for under $300 bucks! I have worn this jacket in below freezing weather and stayed warm. I have worn it in the rain and stayed completely dry too. I removed the shoulder pads since they make you look like a football player and the zipper zips up on the wrong side, like a girls jacket, it takes some getting used to but other than that I love it and strongly recommend it. I've worn it almost everyday for the last 2 months this winter and have no issues. Great quality and excellent fit.

    Expected quality from Alpinestars

First off, as there are no other reviews, I feel like I should definitely say something about the sizing. The sizing chart is, predictably, not totally accurate. Consider the fact that the waterproof + thermal lining is very thick, and you are going to be too snug if you get your exact size. For me, I measured my chest and bought a Medium. It was way too tight, couldn't put my arms down. Went up to a Large and it fit snugly, but correctly. Keep in mind that this is supposed to be more fitted, as it's a European company and this is more of a track jacket. Anyway, on to the product. Make and quality is fantastic for the price. Tons of protection, and you can put in a back protector if you want (sold separately). It also looks _great_. I cannot be happier with how this thing looks! Regarding the thermal lining, I haven't been able to test this out yet but I anticipate wearing it in 40-50 degree weather, although I'm confident it'd be fine in colder. With the thermal lining in, I can fit it over tight fitting clothes, for instance underarmor and a thermal long sleeve. If I wanted to wear a hoodie, it would be a little too snug with the thermal lining in. I don't want to go a size higher though because I'm worried the pads and everything wouldn't line up with my shoulders correctly. Either way, RM was great with the exchange. I recommend this jacket.
