I love the Intermediate X-30 for my 300 XCW, but I thought I'd try the X-40 for my 4-stroke 500 XCW. Wow. Amazing tire - - No chunking at all, no side knobs peeling off, and tread life is excellent. After a 1,000 mile in Baja on a fresh 500cc XCW, no flats, no chunking, and the rear tire is only half worn. The front still looks semi-new. Rear hooks-up about the same as the Pirelli Scorpion but lasts quite a bit longer. Front is very close to the Scorpion, but lasts A LOT longer. Better than any Dunlops currently available, both in terms of longevity and traction. This is an excellent all-around tire combo for hard-terrain/desert/rocks. High value for the money because they last so long. I only gave it 4 stars for Traction & handling because, well, ALL hard terrain tires give up a little traction in return for longevity on nasty, hard terrain. The X-40 strikes a great balance.Read All Reviews
