I have used Michelin tires for the entire 151,000 miles since I bought the bike new in 2003. First set was T-66's and the rest were Anakee, Anakee2 and Anakee3. Latest Anakee (the 3) has about the same traction characteristics as the previous Anakee and Anakee2, with the dirt performance being better. Mud and sand still the same. I bought the pair (front and rear) and mounted them at the same time, and ran the same tire pressure as the previous tires since 90+% of the riding is 2-up. There was less scalloping wear in the Anakee3, but instead of getting the 12,000+ miles that I have been getting on the previous tires, this one was down to the wear bands at 9500 miles. I replaced the front and it now has 4000+ miles and just recently had to change the rear tire which got nearly 13,000 miles. I will probably have to replace the front again before the rear wears out.Read All Reviews

I have put 151,000 miles on Michelin tires since I bought the GS in 2003. T-66's came stock and I went with Anakee's, Anakee2's and now the Anakee3. In my experience, this latest Anakee has some features that are better than the first two Anakee's, and some that are worse. Traction in both wet an dry are similar, with the Anakee2's being the best in my opinion. I always used the V-rated tires in all three models, and found that the Anakee3 has the best traction over tar snakes, especially in wet conditions. Mileage was about 20% better with the first one getting over 12,500 miles before it got down to the wear bands. The one issue that I don't like is the harmonic noise that you get between 35 and 45 miles per hour. It is the worst when the tire is new and goes away a little at a time until about 6000 miles when it seemed to be mostly gone. I have about 1500 miles on my latest tire and it seems to be doing it about the same. I know that it is a little more aggressive than the Anakee2 and is much better on dirt roads, with mud and sand performance being about the same in all three tires. I will probably replace the front with an Anakee3 when the time comes since I believe in running the same tire brand/model front and rear.Read All Reviews

This is my first experience with Michelin Commander II front tire. To say that I'm impressed with its performance would be an understatement. I have been plagued by a steering shimmy at speeds greater than 40mph since my original factory Bridgestone hit 3000 miles. I've since tried a Dunlop E3 and an Avon Venom, with no change in shimmy reduction. All possible mechanical causes were systematically eliminated. After much research and reviewing hundreds of customer comments, I decided on the Commander II. The improvement in stability has been nothing short of dramatic. The shimmy has totally disappeared, the ride has softened (while running identical pressure), and the grip, under all conditions, has been confidence building. I would highly recommend this tire to anyone looking transform the quality and confidence in their ride, particularly heavy touring bikes. I'll be buying another when the time comes.Read All Reviews

I love these tires! They have made a believer out of me! SUPERB wet weather traction, coupled with excellent wear. First of all I am a commuter, I ride every day as long as there isn't snow on the roads. I ride a heavy bike, and I ride it pretty hard. I put these tires on in December, and just ordered a replacement set. I got 7K out of mine. I don't race with them, but I don't baby them either. I'm just impressed with their wear! I think these tires were made for my Concours!Read All Reviews

Mounted this tire before a month long road trip. Best tire I've ever purchased! Rode in the rain for 2 weeks straight, never a squirm or slip. Still could keep up pace in the canyons in the wet, simply amazing!Read All Reviews
