    Great concept, poor execution

Loved the idea of a flexible jacket/vest to change as the day's temperatures changed. I'm 5'11", 165# and the medium fit slightly large but was the perfect size to fit a chest protector underneath. Where this piece of gear lost me was the zippers. When zipped up, the arms will pull apart with the slightest force. One of the chest zippers gets stuck and cannot be pulled down making that pocket useless. Luckily the main zip in the front is more robust. For the money I basically purchased a vest with one pocket that's only for show. I'm actually ok with that but know if you want a jacket that's going to be bomber on the trail, spend the $ to get something nicer than this.

    Riding Coat

It has many zipped vents and sleeves but the zippers are very low quality. The first one that i opened worked fine then when i did the same one on the other side there was no stop sown into the zipper so it just came off the end, it was a major pain to get it started again. I only wore it one time and was very dissappointed in the quality. I will probably wear it again but only on days where i dont plan to need any of the features (that are the only reason that i bought it in the first place).

    Great Value, Quality, and Fit

I was concerned about choosing the right size, but RM customer service was very helpful and confirmed that the chest measurements in their online sizing chart at the time was off quite a bit. I think they updated the website, I didn't see the old chart when I went online to write this review. They also have a great exchange policy to help get the right fit. My concern was the chart indicated 48 inch chest measurement for the medium size. After talking with RM I choose the Medium, it fits me very well! I am a size 40 inch chest, 6’-2”, 165 lbs and like a snug, tailored fit. I usually wear a 36 inch sleeve shirt and have trouble finding jackets with generous sleeve length. This jacket has great fitting sleeves, long enough for me, and feature a zippers and snapped strap that closes the cuff off from drafts. I bought this jacket at the end of the riding season so I didn't get to ride it in warmer weather and test the ventilation slots, but I found I need to wear a hoodie to seal the neck and waist for those cooler fall days. I would highly recommend this jacket, everything about it is well made and high quality.

Great all around jacket. The lined pockets are truly waterproof. The description highlights the vents, which do work great. With those vents closed and the liner in however, this is a 3 and 1/2 season jacket. I've done my half hour commute in the 30's and been comfortable. The size is true. Don't go by the arm lengths. A large is a large.

No opportunity to wear it yet while riding.

Arizona at this time of year doesn't have weather that is cold enough to try it.

Tough and useful, if a bit pricey

Bought this jacket for single track use to wear over armor. I've been using a softshell jacket which is just not sturdy enough, though I like the light weight. This one is good, but a bit stiff and heavy. It should break in over time, or at least I expect it will, as it is sturdy enough to take years of abuse. The only negative is that it is a bit heavy for summer use even in the mountains in the NW. Should be fine for the other three seasons.
