  • Shinko 705 Rear Dual Sport Motorcycle Tire

    Great tire for the price.

2012 Super Tenere 1200. Woody's Wheels conversion 21"x17". I have had Pirelli MT90 AT Tires as well as a rear Heidenau K60 on this bike. I wanted to try the 705's as I used 009 Raven Shinko tires on my Triumph Tiger 1050 and the 705's on my 98 Tiger 900 in the past. Observation: the Pirelli tires are almost close cousin to the 705's but cost much more and may have a deeper tread. Conclusion: I prefer the Shinko's they hold to dirt much better last just under the same miles as the MT90. K60? Nice long life but to my they start feeling snotty wet or dry after 3k miles, at 5k I took them off. I prefer grip over long life any day, I blame the center solid strip on the K60's it is like a street tire with hard rubber. I get around 5.5k out of the 705 tire. The front tire should be called Shinko Howlers lots of noise but I use ear plugs after about 500 miles the do calm down a little. Dang good tire can hold a load as well.

  • Metzeler Tourance Rear Motorcycle Tire

    Metzeler Tourance Rear Motorcycle Tire

From Utah to Alaska and back

I had a set of these tires mounted on my V -Strom 1000 for a Utah to Alaska trip this past July. My bike was loaded down pretty good and it pulled a small trailer. I got 7500 miles out of the rear tire at the wear bars. I would have liked more mileage but under the circumstances I'm happy. No flats, great traction on gravel, some mud, wet and dry pavement, smooth and easy on the turns. On the other hand my wive's Suzuki cruiser fitted with Metzeler ME 880 tires, still has lots to tread to wear. I would buy these tires again but I wish the 880's came in my V Strom's size.

  • Heidenau K60 Scout Front Dual Sport Motorcycle Tire

Heidenau K60 Scout Front Dual Sport Motorcycle Tire

    ben in NC

    Very Good on road.

Installed on my 2015 ktm 500 exc. The good: Fantastic on road. Quiet and TONS of traction. Tread wear is next to zero on my 500 exc. Ater 800 miles on road it still looks new. Im expecting thousands of miles out of this tire. The bad: If you're off road and it wet, Don't even try it. Very poor wet traction off road. it washes bad and will put you on the ground. If you're doing 80/20 riding and rarely go off road, this will make a great tire for you.

Very good Dual sport rear tire.

Installed on my 2015 ktm 500 exc. Needed something that would last on the street and in the dirt. Excellent traction for a DS tire. Very little traction on the side. I've been places off road on this tire that I shouldn't of been. It went places I would of never expected it to go . Little pricey though. Ive put 800 miles on this tire on the road and the road traction is amazing. Tire wear is great too . With the 800 miles on it the tire has about 65-70% left.. And I'm NOT easy on it at all.

    loose in the front

I like Pirelli tires. They perform very well, but..... This tire is like riding on ice in the front. Stick to the regular Scorpion mid-hard. Much better tires. I guess I thought it was going to perform because it says "Pro".
